I wanted to review the accommodation at the Blue Duck Inn mainly:
Cute little cabins consisting of 3 rooms - 1 kitchen/dining/sitting area with double bed, second bedroom with double bed and bathroom. 2 price brackets - we stayed in the 4 star rooms ($150pn). Didn't see the other 3 star cabins ($130pn).
The cabins are quite basic but nicely rustic. Great wood burning fire in the main area. smallish kitchen but all you need to cook and plenty of useful cooking utensils. The cabins are clean and a great place to come back to after exploring the region.
The grounds also are lovely with BBQ areas that you can use.
The pub is on site which is a great bonus , however we were a bit disappointed with the food as we had read reviews that it was good, hearty fare.
The menu is basic, which is fine, but a lot of the food tasted like it had been frozen and not fresh. My husband had the beef steak which he said was perfectly cooked and my lamb curry was pretty good pub curry but the calamari was dire-really rubbery. Most of the menu came with chips, which again is fine, but they also tasted like frozen chips, quite dry. It's just a shame because if they attended to small details like that it would be a great little place. Having said that the Saturday night we ate there was packed, the Sunday much less so.
