Well worth the journey from the QT! We went for lunch and came back for dinner the same night. The food was hearty, homely, and interesting. The kids meals wonderful, my 3 yo ate every last mouthful. Nice wine list with local selection and coffee was perfection. Staff were all very friendly, so three blue ducks got a thumbs up from us as we had nothing to complain about.

Thank LZSR

Just spent the weekend at 'the Blue Duck'. What a great place to unwind. Drinks and dinner Friday night on arrival. Prompt and friendly service. Spent the morning horse riding at Packers, just a short drive up the road, and the afternoon on the river with a kayak. Then back to the Pub for drinks and dinner again. All the visitors were happy to mix and get to know each other- the atmosphere was very friendly. Meals were great and not overpriced at all. Loved not having a television and mobile reception. Great to see Gapsted Wines in the bar. Highly recommend the Duck for a short break.

Recently my partner and I visited the Blue Duck Inn. We stayed for one night. On arrival we were greeted with the most friendliest of people who bent over backwards for us.
The room was beautiful very modern however mains power was not available. We had the basics, being lighting and gas cooking. There was no TV or radio or any modern day gadgets so we were left to do the good old day things of the past. We sat by the river, we talked more, we read and spoke with other guests. The peace and quiet was so tranquil. Phones and lap tops could be charged at reception if required.
There was a wood heater that kept us so warm that we had to have a window open.
Dinner was great and again we were greeted with fabulous staff who couldn't do enough to make us welcome and our visit memorable.
I recommend that if you are looking for a weekend away from it all then Blue Duck is the place to go.

Beautifully placed in the Mitta Valley with fresh air and tranquil scenery. Pity about the road. The accommodation is satisfactory provided you don't want any extras. Very neat and clean with everything working. It should probably be advertised as Eco - accommodation due to the fact that they are run by generators and you cant plug anything extra into power sockets. So anyone who loves their hair appliances or coffee machines will be sadly disappointed. We had a lovely weekend there although this seems to be family oriented accommodation as we were instructed to keep you noise down at 10:30pm whist playing a board game. :(

This is a great stop on some of the best motorbike riding roads in Victoria!

A group of us stayed here for Easter and it was great to head up or down the road for some great riding.

The lodgings were comfortable and most country folk would appreciate them (we did), but if you want the all the mod cons you will be disappointed.

The food was delicious, if a bit overpriced. Same can be said for the accommodation.

We go back for lunch during a ride, but won't stay overnight again.
