Silvertop Cottages

We stayed there last year the first night all we could hear was thumping music all night long from a party nearby, the next day they forgot to tell us there was a planned burn in our area. The fire was a 100 metres from the wooden cottages at 4pm, We told the owners that no way were we staying there that night and left immediately. We waited on a phonecall from the owner after leaving them some email messages but no one even bothered getting back to us. All in all what should of been our first family holiday together turned into a disaster!!! Would not go back again also rooms were tiny.

From the start to end was very bad. Just a waist of money. Spa was full of muddy water. Water coming from a tank in the property ,full of muddy gray water. Inside the cottage was not cleaned, cobwebs in the ceiling . Outside was full of dust, can't even sit on the outside chairs. Totally not cleaned . Ripped off..

The cottages are located in Erica, just outside of Walhalla. They are perfectly situated among the trees, which give you a real feel of being isolated. You are still close enough to the big towns (30/40 mins to Moe or Traralgon), but far enough away to really relax. The cottage itself was beautiful. The kitchen was fully equipped, the lounge had comfy couches and a modern TV, a gas fireplace warmed up the place. The bathroom was huge with a corner spa, and the bedroom had a queen bed. I couldn't fault anything about the place - the tin of tim tams and chocolates was the perfect bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the one bedroom cottage - perfect size for a couple.

These beautifully appointed cottages are located in a stunning forrest with heaps of amenities that really make for a relaxing stay. The little touches of tim tams, chocolates, nescafe sachets and teas as well as a quality audio-visual system with plenty of recent DVDs on offer were great.

The spa was terrific and balcony setting made for a particularly relaxing environment.

I would highly recommend staying at Silvertop Cottages for an escape with plenty of hiking and mountain bike riding opportunities at your doorstep.

The cottages are fantastic. We stayed in the studio cottage. Very well equipped with all the little touches which make it an extra special place to stay - open fire (with everything you need to get it going), good linen, beautiful decor, full size soap and even a packet of good quality chocolate biscuits. Big enough to have a full size fridge and stove and dining area. With TV, DVD's and sound system, games all provided so when we were rained in we had plenty to do. Whilst the cottages are close together, they are well appointed so not intrusive. It is set in native forest and we experienced a multitude of wildlife at our front door. Julie and Noel are great hosts. Close to Erica and Rawson. Wahalla is only 11km away - along very winding road. Would definitely recommend the cottages and will stay there again.

Had a great weekend at Silvertop Cottages, the cottages are as good as the website shows. Stayed in the studio cottage, great furnishings and all you could need is provided - including a tin of chocolate biscuits! Lovely to have a wood burner to keep the cottage warm and toasty. Cottages are amongst the trees so only noise at night is the wind blowing through them and the koalas chatting in the morning. Echidnas roam the ground beneath the cottages. Backs onto the mountain bike trails, great for bird watching too. Close to Walhalla, Rawson, Thomson Dam and Mt Erica. Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots feed on the table on the deck and also eat from your hand! The nearest corner shop is in Erica but the nearest supermarket is Moe (40+kms) so come prepared! Awesome spot to get away from it all.

There are three cottages on the premises. We stayed in the family room which had one day bed and bunks downstairs and an upstairs main bedroom retreat with cot. Last time we stayed here it was in the single bedroom cottage. Both cottages are decked out with lovely furnishings (including a chesterfield lounge in the single room cottage), with plenty of wood and brass finishings to really give it that glorious country cottage opulent feel. This place is do well equipped, you don't really need to go anywhere which is just as well because you're in the middle of a forest with Erica pub (which is about a 10min drive away) being the closest place to have a meal. The attention to detail is what really makes this place special for me and a stand out from the rest. There's a selection of Nescafe coffee, teas, chocolates and even A packet of tim tams to keep you going. Each place also has TV and Dvd player and a selection of books and boardgames. It is such a peaceful location which can be hard to find in the dark travelljng along a dirt road. It's not far (about 20mins) from the scenic old gold mining town of Walhalla. The bird life is amazing and there's even seed provided for you to feed them. There are plenty of walking/cycling tracks. The owner is a lovely friendly lady. I love this place and look forward to visiting many more times.
