Its not often you find a hotel like this, quite, tranquil, outstanding views over the countryside, superb room, (we stayed in the new Mellington suite i would rate this room 10 out of 10) it has got a fantastic four poster bed, you want to see the jacuzzi bath you could swim in it.
We ate in the restaurant, room over looking the grounds, what we had was fantastic, i had the grilled mackerel to start at £4.25 and the local welsh lamb Henry what a portion £10.50.
My partner loved the baileys Irish cream cheesecake.
Breakfast was great especially all the fresh fruit.
I would recommend this hotel for any visit, the staff are a credit to the managers.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary last month.
The hotel itself is a wonderful old building, set in lovely parkland (wasn't quite expecting the caravan park behind though, but it was no bother at all). Our room (Montgomery I think) was great - really spacious with fantastic old furniture. Wonderful views ver the parkland to the front of the hall.

The staff, particularly the manager, were all great.

The food, however, was atrocious. Never before have i been served a goats cheese and red onion tart (you can buy them at our local deli for £1) that had been microwaved and was covered in warmed Thai Sweet Chilli dipping sauce for £11!!!!! And they forgot to bring vegetables. My poor husband faired worse - his Greek Salad (£10) was bereft of tomato or cucumber and had no dressing. It was basically a dry selection of lettuce, green pepper, a tiny amount of feta and a few tinned olives. YUCK!

Breakfast, however, was much better, making it good value for a room with breakfast included. You have a choice of eggs, including massive omlettes, as well as loads of toast, tea, coffee, fresh juice and as much toast as you could want - delicious! They'll also bring this to your room for an extra £5. Bargain!

Rang hotel day before bank holiday, they had 2 rooms left and were very helpful. The hotel is lovely, set in 200 acres, the Anchor room was large with lovely views. All staff were very friendly. The cost was very reasonable especially that it included breakfast. The only downside was we ate in the hotel, the food was average but a little pricey so maybe better to eat elsewhere.

Our room was clean and very comfortable with a lovely view. The restaurant was good and the staff helpful in getting us a table despite the late booking. Very good value for money =)
