We visit this cinema regularly. This is cinema as it used to be as it is privately owned and has not changed much since the 1930's. It is an experience in itself with the original red velvet seats and original décor. It shows all the latest films at half the price of a cinema chain. There is an intermission halfway through the film when ice cream is sold and you can get popcorn and sweets at the kiosk. There is also an organ and there are organ concerts at regular times throughout the month. There are also special daytime deals for senior citizens and special deals on Mondays. There is also an exhibition with the cinema history in the main corridor that makes for interesting reading. A real old fashioned cinema experience at great value. Highly recommended if you want to see a film in quaint and charming surroundings in a relaxing venue.

I visit the Rex quite frequently. It's an old fashioned picture house, (but that's part if it's charm!) and has only one screen, but it still shows the current films, and it's a darn sight cheaper than many of the bigger cinemas. There's a car park next to the cinema which is FREE after 6pm, and there are a few eating places within walking distance, so it makes for a lovely evening out. It's also great to have an interval half way through the film for ice creams / hot drinks and to stretch your legs. It's so nostalgic, a wonderful little cinema!

This is one of the UK’s oldest cinemas and it just may be the oldest continually-working cinema in England. It’s basic – one screen / one projector – but full of character and charm. The projector is a genuine cinematic antique which requires a break, mid-movie, in order to change reels – giving you just enough time for a choc-ice. It’s worth visiting just to experience the hand-drawn overhead transparencies advertising local businesses. On a good day you get a short organ recital with your film and this place is honestly 8 different kinds of awesome. Good prices too, if you're in the West Yorkshire area you need to visit The Rex.

Been going here for years it's a lovely old place, like stepping back in time. Comfortable seating, latest films and friendly staff. It's good to have the interval when you can get a drink or ice cream.
