“OK For Families”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Husband and I stayed at Hotel Cheyenne for one unscheduled night (23rd June) and it was very interesting to compare this to the Sequoia Lodge where we had stayed with our family for 3 nights/4 days previously. We were accompanied by a Disney Customer Service young lady whose name I forgot to take (thank you) so check-in was very smooth.

This is very much a family orientated hotel. We had one buffet breakfast there and in comparison to the Sequoia Lodge the buffet breakfast was not as comprehensive. Being that this is at the cheaper end of the Disneyland hotels (although of course no Disney hotels are cheap!) the majority of the guests were families which made the restaurant area very busy, loud and chaotic. Hadn’t realised there was seating outside which we would have used as it was a lot quieter. Plates were of thick plastic which I didn’t like but of course practical for children.

The room we had was for 2 adults and 2 children in bunk beds. This room was much smaller than the ones in the Sequoia and might have been a bit of a squash for 4 people; you would have to be very tidy, but of course you’re not at Disney to stay in your room. The room and bathroom were clean and functional. The room and fixtures are all in keeping with a western theme. We did have trouble with our room card as did the person who came to try and open our door for us when we were leaving, luckily after trying various cards got into the room so we could get our luggage and leave although did get into a bit of a panic at the thought of missing our train.

The cowboy/western theme throughout the resort is very well thought out and was good. It’s an easy walk to the parks and interesting to walk round the complex. We walked through the Santa Fe complex and to us it had no character so if I was looking to stay at the cheaper end would definitely stay at the Cheyenne.

Don’t believe this hotel has a swimming pool, but personally would always want to have the facility of a pool to unwind in.

Myself and my family stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely hotel, kept clean. Nice rooms. Continental breakfast, plenty of choice and loads of it. We had an all you can eat buffet one night in the hotel, there was loads of choice and the food was very tasty. Would definately stay here again.

Check in was a little slow but more due to the amount of people rather than the organisation. Room was good. Although it didn't smell the best it was clean and basic, just what you want for a Disney base. Bed a little hard but after a day in Disney what does that matter! We paid a little extra for a room closer to hotel facilities, it was only a small charge which I feel was worth it. Ample parking close(ish) to rooms. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and could be improved, but not too bad. I have stayed here twice now and would definitely stay again. Yes not five star luxury and I would expect more from a Disney hotel, but in comparison with the other hotels price-wise, it's not too bad. The buses can get a little busy but walking isn't too far a distance. Like I said, if your unsure if say go for it!

We stayed here during late july / early august. The hotel is very close to the parks. I would suggest walking to the parks if possible as scenery is lovely. We also did the pony ride on last day and children loved it. Weather was great just to add to it. Make sure you take a good supply of drinking water to your room as we could not find any drinking water taps near the block

After reading reviews on here I was a little worried but I needn't of been the hotel was not like a hotel at all but a cowboy village that carried on throughout the room, restaurant, reception area and the outside. Room was clean, bed comfy and perfect for a base camp to explore the disney parks. All staff extremely helpful and pleasant breakfast was fine wide choice of cereals on offer and we always found a table with no trouble. The shop is well stocked and disney characters visit every morning from 8am. We will definitely be coming back to stay here again on our next trip to disney.

We arrived quite late at night and the place was deserted and not very clear. A lady came to the reception desk to check us in asking what time we'd like breakfast which was pointless as only certain times were available and there weren't enough vouchers to give us for our stay. We were told were to go to ur room and that was it no explanation of where to have breakfast how the half board worked nothing. We eventually found where we were stopping and we're happy with the basic family room we got. It was clean and comfortable and a kettle although no tea making facilities?? We got up the next morning and eventually found our way to the chuck wagon where breakfast is. It's was horrendous everyone pushing shoving leaning over you climbing tables were a mess staff stood round talking orange juice always ran out as did the milk for cereals horrific appalling experience that we had to endure for 6 days I never ever want to do that again. We ate at the chuck wagon for one of our half board meals and this was just as bad cold poorly cooked food the children didn't eat. It was great to only be 15 mins away from the parks and the walk along the river is lovely. Most days our room was cleaned but not all we were left with the same cups in the bathroom all week no toiletries replaced and with 4 of us in the summer the soap got used up quick.it really is a very cheap base to just sleep. We had to figure things out for ourselves but the shop lady was very very helpful as we're most of the staff on the information desk which I ended dealing with most of the time. I'm glad we did the holiday for the children but not somewhere I'd stay again.

My family stayed at this hotel for four nights and the best thing about this place is the staff most were very polite and helpful the hotel itself was well presented with the western theme and that's about as good as it got the hotel has not been modernised since it was opened it's very overpriced for what u have already paid to go there and the level of cleanliness iv seen better at a youth hostel the rooms are not air conditioned and the room fan is less than useful we took two four year olds for five days and we were bored by the end of day one I would recommend taking older children as everything at Disney resort requires queuing an awful amout of queuing for everything
