We chose this hotel when booking Disney purely based on price. We had been to Disney before so we knew that we would spend hardly any time at all in the room especially as we were visiting in summer and didn't get back to the hotel until around midnight.
We arrived early afternoon and checking in was easy and quick. You have to say what time you would like breakfast each day of your stay and you are given a little card with the day and time on that you take to breakfast with you. Breakfast here is an all you can eat buffet, it is a continental breakfast and not too impressive. We saw no fresh fruit (despite there always being loads at dinner times). There was croissants, bread, ham, cheese, tinned fruit, cereal, jams and spreads etc. It did the job but not very exciting.
We ate there for our evening meal two nights too which was good but we found better places to spend our meal vouchers (Plaza Gardens in Main Street in the Disneyland Park was lovely!). The hotel buffet had a selection of meats, fish, vegetables, salad, desserts, fresh fruit etc. It was good but was exactly the same the second time we went there so I don't know if the food choices ever change.
Our room was in the Jesse James building which was a good location as was not too far from the dining room, reception, shop etc. There was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan and it did get a bit warm at times. It was easy to walk to and from the parks and was a pleasant walk too along the canal. During peak times the buses can be very hectic, we thought fights were going to break out a couple of times, some of the adults should be ashamed of themselves the way they behave!
The hotel in general is a great base for Disney. Characters visit each morning at 8am and 8.30am. There are pony rides too.
I think it is obvious that no updating has been done to the rooms and hallways since the hotel was built and some of the outdoor areas also look a bit rundown. However, there did seem to be some pathways being re-laid when we were there so maybe that was the start of some much needed refurbishment?
I would recommend this hotel.
