We were passing through Foix a few weeks ago, on our way from the Pyrenees up to Toulouse. We decided to take a look at Foix and are so glad we did so. The town with its narrow mediaeval streets is really attractive, the Abbey and impressive castle plus museum are both very well worth a visit. We decided to stay overnight and in search of something more rural, we chose La Ciboulette, a little way out of town.
The owners were absolutely charming, the room, bathroom and separate loo were large, clean and provided with everything we needed including a very interesting range of teas. The room was quiet and had two windows (or was it three?) with good views, so fresh air plus the gentle sound of a nearby stream which we explored before supper, accompanied by some of La Ciboulette's family of friendly chickens and a sundown glass of wine. And then the food - wow! One of the best meals I've eaten in a long time.
We slept well, breakfast was excellent, delicious and plentiful. We were only sorry to leave. Thank you, La Ciboulette; I hope we see you again.More
