Go here if you really want to eat a good steak in Denmark. They cook them just the way you order them and are served on a hot cast iron plate. The salad bar is not very exciting, some boring stuff, like the ready-made pickled stuff you see on the shelves of larger supermarkets.
I been here quite a number of times, mainly with customers. Just ensure they like steak. Unfortunately, the service is not very international. If you are used to the service level outside Northwest Europe, you will be disappointed at the Charolais Kro. When we came in last week, it took some time before they noticed our party of four and gave us a table, it took a long time before they offered us a drink and the menu and I never got a refill during the whole evening. When I wanted to ask for the check, it took some time to get their attentention, as the waitresses were talking privately together behind the counter.
Prices are reasonable, as the meat is a good quality. The restaurant is pretty small, so it can feel crowded, if there are many people or your party is bigger than four.
But the steaks are excellent here, so if you do not mind the informel Danish service, this is an OK restaurant.
