I love sushi, as this is a good alternative to other fastfood options. I ate here with my daughter, as we had a meeting later on in Vejle. We sat in the restaurant, but were too early to choose from the running sushi (they only placed some salads on it during our 45 minute visit). We told the waitress that we were in a hurry and we got our food served fast. We usually order menus to share at other sushi restaurants, but got two separate plates. When we asked for two smaller plates, so we could share the two menus between us, this was arranged swiftly.
The waitress was very new, so she did not know that much about the menu, but this was no problem for us.
The sushi itself was not extremely good. If you are used to take-away boxes from supermarkets, this is however a much better and fresher alternative, as the take-away boxes at NamNam do not seem to be that much more expensive than the supermarket ones. The quality of the sushi compared to other sushi restaurants, especially outside Denmark, was not that brilliant. The rice was not perfectly cooked and lacked the characteristic stickiness and firmness, so the rolls were a bit loose in structure. They were not perfectly cut either. The choice of sushi were the classical ones, tuna, salmon, shrimps and of course the every present California roll. On the other hand, this probably reflects more what their guests would like anyway.
I could visit the restaurant again for a quick meal, but not for a culinary experience. If I would live in Vejle, I would definitely buy their take-away boxes once in a while, if I did not have time to prepare dinner myself.
I hope they will introduce some more exciting sushi rolls after some time.
