Stayed at Hagland Lille comfort house (a red one) as two couples with children for several nights in August/September 2017. I'd love to go there again and again even though I am not an angler/fisher which could easily love this place even more than me.
The house was really cozy (Ikea-styled) and clean offering everything you need for living: well equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms with 2 separate beds each (plus 2 beds more in the attic), a toilette with a shower plus another room with second toilet bowl and metal sink to work the fishes. A spacious living room with sat TV and radio, which you will probably never use as the silence in the room as well as outside the house is astonishing. You can only hear birds early morning and those little water creeks surrounding the house and even running beneath it and some sheep sounds when you climb at one of the tops of the hills nearby.
Although our friends who visited Hagland Lille some time before us, have proven that it is possible to get there with public transportation (a bus + another school bus), ideally you rent a car at the airport (ca. 35 minutes away). This way you can visit, for example the Karmoy (white sand) Beaches or a Haugesund panorama from the Steinsfjellet hill. You can also get to the Haugesund city center to do some food shopping (there is nothing but salt and pepper in the kitchen in terms of food).
Alternatively you can try to get to the city center on the motor boat that is assigned to each house (we did not try that as docking the boat by the rocky coast might be somewhat tricky).
Be aware the beds are single and even when put next to each other, there are wooden bed frames around each mattress making it hard to snuggle in the night.
Also, the numerous steps you have to take to get to the house practically prevent the accessibility of wheel chairs, etc. However, the is also a simple funicular lift installed by the owners to help you take your baggage half the way up to the hill over the water and half of the steps :-)
