On a recent cruise stop we walked this quaint town to search out the historic buildings. This loveley architecture attraction is sort of hidden away at one end of the town in a pretty square that begs to be visited! Free entry available if it is open.

We were told that we must go & see the 'pink building but unless you go inside that's all it is a 'pink' building, not far off of the main shopping street.

It's situated in a nice square with a water fountain & lots of seating & when we were there several men had got together with their guitars & were playing. It was a real suntrap & is a nice place to sit & watch everyone walk by.

For a smallish city, this municipal building seemed gigantic to us yet not particularly interesting. What was interesting was the two statues in front of the building. One showed a large bird killing a rabbit and the other one a smaller bird killing a big bird. By wife characterized the statutes as "horrible". I on the other hand thought of them as "interesting."

Even without anything here in terms of activities and such, then the town hall of Haugesund is a beautiful building that is most definitely worth a visit, and it makes for a beautiful backdrop for taking photos.

Nice, though simplistic, architecture, but the construction as a whole works quite well. And the two massive statues of birds at the stair entrance are masterfully sculpted.

The town hall overlooks a beautiful park, which is a good location to sit down and have a rest and take in the sights, sounds and smells of Haugesund.
