“Lovely, but very expensive experience”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

It probably is not fair to rate Farris Bad with only four dots, but even though my experience was wonderful, it is really expensive and without my gift card that covered almost all of my stay I would have had a bitter taste to use that huge chunk of money on a one night stay with a couple of treatments and dinner. I have heard you can get a much better deal staying from Sunday to Monday, and the experience is the same, so if you can avoid the high weekend rate, you would be much better off. The place is absolutely stunning! Scandinavian design, clean and modern. Art work enough to fill a large gallery. We had complimentary yoga and aqua pilates sessions, the latter was the most fun. Lots of steam rooms, baths, saunas and things to do on your own, you should at least have a couple of hours to explore the place in addition to treatments. The swimming pool was a little bit smaller than I had anticipated, and a little bit crowded at times, but if you are not there to take laps, it is very nice and has a great view. Elsewhere at the premises, stairs down to the sea, outdoor hot tub and massage chairs were welcomed surprises. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, the service was very friendly, and the food was good. The bar was relaxed and stylish. All in all a great stay that I enjoyed very much!

Room Tip: I guess a room with a sea view would be very nice here...

Simply ...

There's nothing perfect for sure that's why won't say perfect but

Highly recomended
Cant talk about the price because it paid already by my job !

Spa .... Don't miss it !
Well have nothing more to say but as I mention before nothing is perfect

Not really far from the train station it's walking distance, and lucky we met people who were in the same train and they show us how to go to the hotel ....

We visited the Farris Bad hotel for Our 10th anniversary. We could not stay away from Our two children and hence were there just for the day. The SPA was really good. The treatment was excellent and the ambience was great. The restaurant served a lunch buffet which had a wide variety. Being a vegetarian, I generally have Challenges in Norway, but Farris bad had enough to fill my stomach. Overall, I rate this experience extremely positively.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that faces the Ocean

Visited this hotel for a two day stay as a couple. Had an amazing two days with a great spa experience at a very good hotel. The room was nice, although I would ask for ocean view the next time. Pool/spa area is great, the atmosphere in the hotel is relaxing. The food and service at the restaurant was not as good as expected, but I would not like that to reduce the overall rating of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the ocean.

This hotel has one of the best spas in Norway and worth a visit. The spa has everything you need, but remember it's not cheap.

The restaurant had a set menu and the food was well prepared and really good. Not everyday food and that's a good thing. Remember that if you want to buy a bottle of wine it's really expensive. Too expansive. Most of the bottles cost from 1000NOK and up.

The room was modern and cosy at the same time, but our room had a problem with the shower, a light bulb and some dirt on the floor when we came.

To sum it up. It's a modern hotel with great spa and food, but too expensive and not too well maintained.

One of the best hotels ive been in. Great rooms (Get one with a view of the ocean) and great pool/spa area. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was good, not great, but the service was excellent, and they did recomend an excellent red wine with my steak dinner.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the ocean.

Stayed here for one night, toghether with my mom. The stay was sponsored by her gym, as she had been lucky enough to win an all inclusive stay. The reception area is open and welcoming. Huge windows facing the sea makes the entrance quite breathtaking. The receptionists are pleasant, efficient and forthcoming. Our room on the second floor did not have a seafront view, but that did not really matter that much - as we spent most of the time in the spa area and in the restaurant. The room is modern and clean - but we found it rather cold. By the time we got the right temperature, we were going to bed. The bathroom was also a bit too cold for comfort - and we did not find a way to adjust the temperature. The beds were really comfortable, but I do wish they had a better selection of pillows - as we both found them very hard, and very big. We experienced no noise from the surroundings.
In the evening we had a three course meal, served by the most attentive waiters. What joy to find the meal filling, and not just some small work of art on the plates! We had fish for starters, fish and calf for main meal and a lovely white chockolate mousse with frozen yoghurt and home made ice cream for dessert. All very tasty!
The breakfast buffet is nicely presented with a huge choice for everyone. As this is a spa hotel, they do keep a healthy profile - so no need to bring your own low carb food.
This is a pricy place to stay, but if you`ve got the chance to come here - I highly reccomend it.
P.s. The spa area is definitely worth a visit!
