My husband and I stayed at Otway Fields for 1 night after our trip along the Great Ocean Road and we had such a fantastic time! What we enjoyed most was the amazing hospitality by our superb hosts, Ami and Frans. They happily showed us around their farm and we were welcomed to sample any of the fruits and vegetables they were growing. The cabin we stayed in was very cozy and tastefully decorated. The highlight was waking up to a basket full of fresh produce, baked bread and other goodies lovingly grown and prepared by Ami and Frans. Coming from a populated city like Hong Kong, we cherished this opportunity to escape, relax and learn about sustainable consumption. For a truly authentic farm stay experience, I highly recommend staying at Otway Fields!
A landscape artist would love the outlook over the fields to the Otways.
The unit itself was excellent as were the breakfast provisions which for us covered lunch as well. The hosts Ami and Frans made the whole visit warm and relaxing. We have started on the jam we purchased and will soon start on the honey and relishes!

Stayed here for 2 nights and Ami and Frans are the best host! Home was cosy and very comfortable. Ami's homemade jams were the best and we also got to feed the cows on the farm. View from the cottage is spectacular. If it's not cold, do sit outside the cottage at night and enjoy the sky full of stars. Breakfast basket every morning was enough for both our breakfast and lunch. Thanks to the fresh ingredients we were able to make loads of yummy food. Thank you Ami and Frans! :)
From the very first time I've booked this place Ami has been the perfect host. She was keeping me up to date with my booking, giving me tips - how to get there, where to go for dinner (make sure you visit Forrest Brewery Co.). Ami made sure she knew more about us (visitors) so she could cater to our needs/likes for breakfast.
The cottage - very neat, clean and functional. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, ensuite and a kind-of walk-in-robe. The lounge/kitchen/dining is all one big room - but very functional. You have everything in the kitchen to whip up a scrumptious breakfast from locally sourced ingredients that Ami will drop off to you in the morning. The freshly made bread and the goat cheese were the highlights for us. And the tomatoes actually had tomato taste - no wonder, they were from Ami's garden!!! Oh, and there is plenty of tea, coffee and milk as well. Plenty of parking space (even for a big car).
Yes, the place is off the beaten track, but if in the area - I would not hesitate to stay at Ami's again. Thank you!!!
Two nights away from the kids, first time in 5 years...we couldn't have picked a better spot. Lovely owners, gorgeous cabin, amazing breakfast (best food we had in the Otways)...it was soooooo relaxing...we certainly hope to return and highly recommend it. The cabin was generously appointed, everything thoughtful - and a really great shower!
If you are after a country escape that has endless views, tranquility and an abundance of organically grown produce to feast on .. then look no further than Otway Fields!
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in their private cabin! We especially loved the furnishings from South Africa where the host's previously lived. After a very restful sleep we woke up to the gentle sound of rain pattering on the roof, the sent of fresh flowers by the bedside and a gourmet breakfast feast!
Ami and Frans are such welcoming hosts and their passion for home grown produce is evident in every corner of the property from their free range chickens to their fields of fruit and vegetables.
We already look forward to our return, hopefully longer next time!
My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at Otway Fields and we were blown away by how comfertable and easy Ami made our stay. She showed us her 2 new baby twin calves and kept good contact with us. Our breakfast baskets were cute and impressive.
We would definatly suggest Otway Fields to anyone wanting to have a break from busy city or town life.
