I have known this venue for over 60 years! Whilst in some ways I agree with the sentiments of some other reviewers - about it 'not being the same' etc - I too, remember in the dim distant past, when it was very different to today, but times have changed and things have moved on. and the venue is still part of a thriving modern city centre and the displays are equally 'current' yet maintain some of the history of the area, there also is, within the venue a very pleasant coffee shop and modern well serviced toilet facilities and easy access throughout.
Their gift shop is well stocked with many things unique to the venue and make ideal take home gifts.
All donations are welcome but like many museums is free to enter.
Well worth a visit - and many large & good quality shops nearby if you find yourself needing some retail therapy.
