Its so refreshing to find something a little bit different from the norm, this is a gorgeous little cafe, very nicely decorated a lovely shabby chic vintage theme, my friends daughter had a lovely princess birthday party here so i stayed around with some of the mums to have a cuppa and some cake, the party looked so gorgeous the table was decorated all in pink and the kids were well looked after, the staff are friendly and nothing is a bother to them, my little boy is quite a fussy eater and the staff were more than happy to knock something up off the menu. I have been back since with the other half and he loved it too, although the place has a definite feminine feel, there is nothing girly about the food, my hubby had a full monty sandwich which was large enough to feed all of us! Go and check it out, its worth the little walk out of the centre

My family and I have visited this tea room on numerous occasions and it never fails to please. Even my rather picky teenage son never says no to a visit to Serendipity. I regularly recommend their food to anyone looking for something really nice to eat!! I particularly like their home made soup but you will be spoilt for choice, and it's so nice to drink tea out of their pretty china cups.

A gorgeous little café just out of the town centre, I love stumbling across little gems like this and almost want to keep it to myself but its too nice not to share, it looks like the sort of café you would find in a posh London suburb, beautifully decorated and a very homely and relaxed feel. The menu is very interesting and obviously lots of thought gone into making it interesting and fun. I sampled some delicious homemade soup along with a goodfellas sandwich served on some very tasty olive bread, I also had a to die for Bannofee hot chocolate, everything was very good the staff very friendly and happy. I am looking forward to returning and trying some more items from the menu very soon

I visited here on Saturday with my friend for a catch up, its a really great place, the place was bustling with a great atmosphere, a baby shower and birthday afternoon tea party going on too, we both had one of the gorgeous speciality teas, I had the Earl of Sunderland and my friend had a Wearside Warmer, we both tried them and they were lovely. I opted for a sandwich and soup, really tasty cheese and herb bread and sweet potato and chorizo soup, my friend had a ham and haloumi salad, we both had cake for afters, I had a piece of death by chocolate and my friend had chocolate guinness cake, we shared the cakes and they were both delicious and nice to see that they were homemade too. I will definitely be back for afternoon tea in the future and plan to book one of their burlesque masterclass parties for a very special birthday coming up. I highly recommend a visit

What a great find, a lovely gem hidden just off the town centre, good food and service but an interesting place with a homely and welcoming atmosphere, lots of nice little interesting and quirky touches, tea cosies, sugar tongs, old china, gingham tablecloths, mini gingerbread men biscuits with my tea, such a refreshing change from the high street chains
