Given hiw much I detest Sunderland, this park is fairly tranquil and nice on a sunny day. Quite small and not for kids.

“Nice park not nice seagulls”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The park is nice and flowers and green areas are well kept but the pond area is full of seagulls and pigeons and you notice these scavengers more than the ducks which is a shame as all you can hear is the shrieking of seagulls as they dive bomb and fight for food and rubbish in pond, if the pond area was as nice as the rest of the park I would have given a higher rating.

“A superior city park”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We were lucky enough to be lodged just south of the park, so could walk into town for our business purposes. It is certainly one of the better inner-city parks we have seen, well-kept and with a variety of plant life. The 'no-alcohol' rule was disregarded somewhat, though the drinkers were no more disruptive than other visitors. If you want a picnic, stay away from the pool at the north side, as you will be beseiged by seagulls, pigeons, ducks and other forms of scavenger life.

“A peaceful place in a busy city.”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Mowbray park is a good size. Its clean, colourful and has great facilities. There is a dednt play area for children and its really nice to walk around, especially if youve just had lunch in one of the nearby pubs. For a city centre park, mowbray is very peaceful. Give it a go.
