This is my local cafe and the food is delicious. It is the only one around the area which is right on the door step of Herrington Park. This is probably why the prices are a little steep.... £7 for panini or pie with a side of salad or crisps and thats without drinks. It usually costs about £10-£12 each when i go for food and drink. It is small and cosy and staff never stop. I go there for a treat as i think its a bit pricey for light lunch. It is right at the foot of Penshaw Monument and has lots of lovely plants for sale within its grounds. There is limited seating outside for the summer. Lovely food and staff but a bit expensive.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you enjoy visiting our Tea Room.

With regards to the cost of meals, most of our lunches cost in the region of £4 or £5, we do not have any meals on our menu which cost £7. We always try to ensure our prices remain in line with other venues which are similar to ours.

Thank you again.

If your after a relaxing coffee and fresh food in a nice location Penshaw tea rooms could be for you. Overlooking Penshaw Monument and Herrington country park the tea rooms offer delicious cakes scones and savoury food, friendly and helpful staff, give it a try!
If your after a quiet moment visit morning or afternoon as lunch times get very busy
One drawback is nowhere for the kids to play in the winter, could also use a liquor license.

Good car park access
