I routinely pop into the tearooms on my way to business in Sunderland. The food is delicious and of good value in my opinion and the staff are absolutely delightful and pleasant. The tearooms features a great view of the monument and overall has a very cosy feeling to it, making it a delight to pop into now and then.

Always a great place to drop into after a walk around Herrington Park. We regularly go on a Sunday and never leave disappointed.

Walk around Penshaw wood and visit to Tea Rooms.
Just had lovely visit to Penshaw Tea Rooms with my boyfriend. Took the dog around the woods and then we went and had a tasty lunch. Salmon Quiche, side salad, coleslaw, crisps – quiche had big chunks of salmon, salad was fresh and plentiful. Perfect! Cost for 2 meals with tea £14 a little expensive but good amount of food. Friendly staff.

Ihave to say im a bit biased but ive been going to this tea room since it opened.Great for a coffee and a read of the daily papers{free of charge}.Nice scones and cakes with friendly staff and great views of the area(penshaw hill). And now on top of a plant nursery it has its own farm butchers.Worth a try if you are in and around Wearside.
