My friend and I called in here this evening after it was recommended by another friend. Monsoon Kitchen is beautifully decorated and we were greeted warmly. We were given a menu which is not the usual extensive range of standard curries, but instead, a select number of traditional, home style dishes. No alcohol is served which was not a problem for my non-drinking friend and myself and we had the mango lassi - absolutely delicious. We chose the Lamb Samosa and Chicken Tikka for starters - Samosas were delicious, in fact so delicious I was have liked them as giant sized! Next we had Chicken Tikka as a main course and a Desi Handi and Pilau Rice. This was the best rice and the best curry we have ever tried - buttery, spicy and flavoursome. The portions were good too. The Chicken Tikka was not the usual red coloured chicken but delicate and served with some lovely little pots of sauce. The food was beautifully presented and the attention to detail with the dishes, spoons and goblets was lovely.

We had a lovely chat with the chef who told us about the ethos behind the restaurant - home cooked food, served in a safe, family orientated environment. We will certainly be back! My only grumble was that we a little cold, probably because we were near the door and it was a cold night but other than that we had some of the best food in a long time!

This is the second time we have sat in for a meal here and we have had a few takeaways and every time has been great.
The staff are always friendly and helpful and make the visit all the more enjoyable.
Every meal we've had has been great, and the unique and authentic menu are a nice change from the usual.
11/10, highly recommended and great value all over.

Wow and wow again! Was great to see a menu without all the usual suspects that you normally find on other menus. We had the lamb stew and other various bits! The lamb was so tasty and cooked to perfection! The staff are always checking that you and your food are ok! Everybody need to come and try Monsoon Kitchen!!! We will most certainly coming back for some authentic Asian food!

Visited the monsoon kitchen last week with my girlfriend. We were shown to our table and the young waiter explained that it was not an indian restaurant but pakistan cuisine. He explained some of the dishes that weve never heard of. Very nice touch. We had king prawn pakoras and lamb samosas to start followed by king prawn tikka masala and the lamb cooked with spices, also rice and flat bread. The food was very well presented and very tasty and completely different to indian cuisine. All in all well recommended for something different. The only drawback was they didnt sell any alcohol only soft drinks. I know some friends who wouldnt go because of this but the food was good.

Our first visit to this wonderful restaurant, but definitely not the last. Food was well presented by friendly staff - everything cooked from scratch without any food colouring or preservatives, making this an authentic experience. Loved the mini poppadums - main courses Nawabi Nihari and the tastiest Qurma ever. I'd read about the rice pudding (Kheer) and had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. After our meal, the owners took us on a tour of the kitchen and spice store, showing us how the dishes are marinaded in preparation.
Dont let the fact that they dont serve alcohol put you off - there is a large selection of soft drinks available.
Highly recommended - we will be back again soon.
