“Disappointing the restaurant smells of frying”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

Thought would try lunch here following the refurbishment and thoroughly disappointed. Service slow, £3.10 for a lemonade and £3.80 for small glass of house wine. had the goats cheese with tomato and pasta. This was extremely bland, some sundries tomatoes stirred through some tasteless pasta on some lettuce and goats cheese crumbled through. My mother had the chicken with melted cheese with bacon with fries, this was from the specials board, said it was ok, nothing special. Total bill 22.35 which I consider expensive for sitting in an area that smelt of chip fat - wont return.

“Affordable good food”
Reviewed 9 August 2013 via mobile

We had lunch here after walking round the glass centre itself.
The restaurant is light and airy with good views of the river from most tables.
The restaurant is waiter service and the staff excellent at their job.
We chose the club sandwiches (white, brown or olive bread) with sirloin steak, bacon tomato, leaves and a side salad with a cup of hand cut chips.
The food was very good and I couldn't finish mine. The overall bill was very reasonable for what we had.

“No service available”
Reviewed 9 August 2013 via mobile

After a lovely visit to the glass centre with excellent demonstrations, we arrived at the brasserie for refreshments at 4.20 to be told we couldn't have hot drinks and they'd serve us cold drinks of we'd sit outside so they could set up their tables for the evening. What a spoiler!!!! Such a shame as we've visited regularly and usually receive excellent service.

“A Marvellous Restaurant”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

We visited the Brasserie to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday on a Friday night. We were a party of 10 aged 13 upwards. Although the menu is quite short (four choices plus a special for each course) we all could happily have had anything on offer. There were fish, vegetarian and various meat dishes to choose from. The food achieves that elusive combination of fine quality and being substantial enough to be truely satisfying. The wine list although again not huge was excellent and very good value. The staff were lovely and very helpful, with enough people on duty for the service to be first class. All in all this is a first class reataurant and one which deserves to be visited many times over - and all that from a Newcastle fan

“Can't fault it.”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

Went to the Brasserie on Friday evening for dinner. The food was gorgeous would recommend it to everyone. Our party had a mix of main courses all of which were lovely and no one could find fault. Again the desserts were good The Brasserie has a nice feel to it. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a canny night out. If you haven't been yet try it! You won't be disappointed!
