Visited the glass centre today to sample the new refurbishment. No great change to this stunning location. The new chairs are more comfy. And the outside seating excellent on a sunny day. The staff were pleasant snd helpful. The praise stops there I'm afraid food whoever provides it is very poor. We ordered panini which was rather bland and fruit scones which were dry and we left most of them. The food and drink on offer is overly priced. Which I think is the opinion if most diners when watching them being seated and initially looking at the menu.Very sad as this is such an iconic venue to relax and enjoy the river views.

Visited with 3 friends for 8 pm booking. We were greeted and shown straight to our table. Our complimentary drinks arrived very quickly. Although there is not a huge range on the menu, between us we chose salmon and pork medallions. Beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Our panacotta was also lovely. One in our party had sticky toffee pudding, but there was little in the way of sauce so she didn't eat all of it , although she said it was very good. The bill came to £82 for 4, this included our meal( about £15 each, 2 bottles of rosé and a fruit juice. The staff were all lovely, some I would say a little inexperienced, but they tried hard. No complaints at all. We will be back on the very near future. A great night, with the addition of lightening in the sky as an added bonus.

Went with my mum. Greeting very positive and friendly then all down hill. We were ignored for ages even tho there were staff doing nothing. Had to go and ask if it was waitress service or not. Not great quality food at all but pretends to be. The staff looked so lifeless and miserable. If that were my business I'd sack them all. Very disappointing.

Decided to take friends for their first visit and lunch at the Glass Center and was full of hope after the refurbishment, afraid to say we were disappointed.
Thought the waiting staff were all very friendly and there were quite a few working. Front of house was poorly organized with various staff coming to take our order when we had already had our order taken. Our waitress had to keep going back to the kitchen asking what certain items were on the menu as she was unsure.
I ordered the Green salad with croutons, lardons, Parmesan shavings , a light dressing and a poached egg. The dressing was so light I couldn't taste it, croutons were so dry ,hard and very difficult to eat, poached egg was hard.
Other dishes ordered were the chicken and chips and the comments for this was " It was just, ok"
Our 2nd drinks took so long coming we had to go to the bar to remind them.
We did feel we were paying for something more than we had received & wont be rushing back.
Such a shame ,there is room for improvement.

Me and my partner herd from a friend about the reopening of the national glass centre and how the catering has been taken over by the stadium of light catering company. We knew the food at the stadium was loverly so we were confident the food at the glass centre would be the same. We went down on a sunny day and sat outside with great views of the river. We shared a platter and had a coffee. The service was top class, we were welcomed by the manager with a smile and sat straight down. Laura the waitress came over and introduced her self and took our order. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. The food was delicious. We would definitely recommend to anyone
