“Happy hour, happy toddler, happy parents!”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

We visited the scullery on a Saturday evening during happy hour, with our 18 month old daughter. She was not in the best of moods to say the least. After our attempts to pacify her with toys, colouring etc but to no avail, the staff were very attentive to her needs, bringing her bread while we waited for food (which wasn't long at all). Not interested with the bread or chips on offer, the staff then gave her an ice cream lolly which held her attention long enough for us to enjoy our meals and a much needed glass of wine! Thank you, nothing was a problem for them! They had baby wipes, toys, children's cutlery and bibs to hand. Highly recommend this as a family orientated place to dine, as there aren't many around that serve such good, fresh grub.

“Worlds best Bacon Roll?”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

I have had a few bacon rolls in my time, I've reviewed around 15 for parkruns in the area and I have no doubt this is the best yet, a generous amount of very nicely cooked bacon on a roll which although soft wasn't tasteless, really really good.
We had them with lattes which were perfectly acceptable, although not quite the rich smooth steamed milk that is sometimes achieve (who wants me for a customer?).
The decor is excellent although the entrance a little hard to find and the staff uber friendly, the cakes looked to be a mix of homemade and bought in, so I am guessing a few wise choices and you have a great experience.
No doubt at all, this is a very very good cafe (haven't been in the evening)

“Great experience at the scullery”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

Nothing better when the staff are that attentive that it makes the experience more enjoyable, chef clearly takes care in every dish that is made no matter who you are, would recommend this to anyone and have already, may possibly be one of the best food ever tasted, great idea that it's a cafe during the day and a restaurant on the night, I've been at both times, seems more relaxed during the day and more comfortable environment which is what you need on a morning and mid afternoon, will certainly be returning

“Quality Food, Quality Service”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

This place is a must, if you live in silksworth or otherwise, get along, service is first class, very attentive, and nothing is any issue, kids are welcomed, families are welcomed, couples are welcomed. We've visited with our children and as a couple and the service and food is excellent, the chicken dishes are stunning, the starters are original, simple broccoli with chilli and garlic sounds simple tastes stunning. The whole place has a good feeling about it. If you haven't been your missing a treat.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

I visited the restaurant a week ago with my husband and niece and was so impressed that a family party of 10 returned on Thursday the 1st for an early bird special. The decor is lovely and the people are so friendly and attentive. Nothing seems too much for them even though 10 people all shouting out different questions and orders can be really difficult. The meals were all served promptly and were really tasty and hot. The veg was cooked perfectly and the chicken was melt in the mouth.
