Stayed at the Mayfield Guesthouse 18 years ago, liked it then so booked the same room again this time, for it's lovely sea view and found the guest house still up to it's same good friendly standard. With good food and excellent service, with very friendly staff, will definitely go again.

Room Tip: room number 5, good sea view four poster bed.

Thank you for your kind review.

We do have black pudding(and mushrooms)on request if you wish but do not put it on my breakfast plate as many do not like it.So next time we can hopefully satisfy your personal preference on that score.

The Mayfield is in a great location, perfect for walks on the beach. It was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast really was excellent. Vince immediately makes you feel welcome and was very helpful. I stayed for 2 nights and have already decided to take the family for a longer stay as there is so much to see in the area.

Room Tip: I had a room at the back downstairs which was quiet and comfortable.

I would recommend this establishment to everyone. The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable. The food was delicious and Vince was most friendly and helpful. I was visiting from Australia with my wife.

Room Tip: The room on the first floor had a sea view and a four poster bed.

A very friendly, welcoming and efficient Guesthouse. No traffic noise, as next to a small park.
Several restaurants within walking distance. Frequent buses to the Seaburn Metro and the
Sunderland Interchange. Only one minute walk to the seafront. Excellent breakfast, nothing
too much trouble. Definite value for money. Recommended.

Comfortable ground floor bedroom. It didn't have a sea view, which didn't bother us, but it was lovely and quiet which we did appreciate. It was a twin room, and although I found my bed comfortable, my husband thought his was rather on the hard side. Maybe we should have swapped beds! The room and shower room were clean and well presented.
Breakfast was tasty, with egg, bacon, sausage and a grilled tomato. Cereals and toast also on offer if desired.
We were visiting relatives who live nearby, and now we have found the Mayfield we'll definitely use it again when we stay.

We stayed one night, the room was clean and comfortable and Vincent helpful. Nice selection of restaurants on the sea front. Great scrambled egg for breakfast. My grandson is at the university and for a one night stay it was good. Would definitely go back when visiting him.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor, no 10, very quiet.
