We stayed over the weekend of the 11 may 2018
13 adults 2 babies 4 children
Facilities were brilliant for everyone gorgeous house full of all the things we could possibly need ; hot tub and the play area where well used vic and rachel were great vic made the children's day taking them to see the animals rachel helped with any queries nothing was to much trouble .
The only point I would bring up is the family sleeping down stairs felt it could do with a bit of sound proofing for people walking above
But overall a fabulous weekend for a family celebration would go back in the blink of an eye x
19 of us stayed for 3 nights during the wonderful May sunshine. Ages ranged from 6yrs to 86yrs. Everyone loved the accommodation and the courtyard and hot tub was a great hit with all. The facilities were mainly as expected, we loved bring able to eat and sit together, it would have been nice to have more outdoor seating in the courtyard though. The orchard and playground was a favourite with all ages and we spent time exploring the local area. Great place for a family celebration.
Myself and fellow work colleague stayed at the barn for our team building session and were blown away by the appearance as well as the excellent service.
We had an array of well laid out rooms to choose from, with most having ensuites, so no fighting in the mornings for the loo.
There was a big fridge freezer to accommodate our online shopping order, which was delivered straight to the gate.
Lastly the private hot tub was a nice bonus though it was raining on our visit so unfortunately wasn’t able to enjoy.
Vic and team were able to not only accommodate our early check in/ late check out but Vic also kindly gave ourselves a tour around the Orchard to which we got to see the variety of animals they have.
We were also extremely lucky to help nest a few peacock eggs with a broody hen as well as see chicks hatch there and then!
Even when we had a slight technical issue with the Broadband, Oliver rapidly fixed the issue so our meeting went smoothly.
Overall this barn is ideal for large parties, who like the luxury of mod cons in a rural setting! Also great for families with the on site playground available.
Would highly recommend to anyone!
Recently we stayed at the Oakerthrope Holiday Village and had rented the Milking Parlour Grande and the Farmhouse Southwing. The Milking Parlour Grande accommodated 24 people and the Farmhouse Southwing accommodated about 16 people.
We had rented this accommodation for my wedding. We had about 50+ people flying in from all over the world (US, Canada, India and Germany). I wanted a place where we could entertain my whole family. These farmhouses enabled this to happen perfectly. The houses are spacious, comfy and very modern. The surroundings with the farm and park were the icing on the cake.
Rachel and Vic were very friendly, accommodating and helpful from when we initially contacted them to view the property, through to booking and right to the very end. We cannot fault any aspect of their hospitality.
Overall I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Oakerthrope Holiday Village.
The Milking Parlour Grande and its setting was ideal for our family and friends and small children. The accommodation was top rate, my only criticism would be lack of ambient lighting at the “lounge” end of the large open plan living room, a few more lamps would help. The children loved helping Farmer Vic to feed the animals (and were over the moon when they received their certificates). Thank you.
The hot tub was a bonus as were the facilities in the grounds. A fantastic base for exploring the local area. Would recommend to friends.....I think my daughter is interested in staying with her ex university friends and their children.
Had an awesome time at Oakerthorpe. We stayed in the Milking Parlour Grande, 10 adults, 4 x 3-4 year olds and 4 babies.
The property is kept to a really good standard with modern facilities, TV, DVD, WiFi. Most bedrooms have en suite.
The hot tub was brilliant and the kids enjoyed it in there. We arranged a Tesco delivery on our first day there to cater for our 3 nights in the house.
Pesto is a mile walk away along with other nice pubs near by.
Kids play park and farm were also great to occupy the little ones.
The only criticism would be that we could hear the older kids banging around upstairs when putting the babies to sleep, but a word to calm down helped to minimise the noise.
Large family gathering of 17 adults and three children, everyone was very impressed by the size and facilities at Milking Parlour Grande. It looked good on the website but was better than expected. The large table really is huge and easily set everyone for meals. Very large fridge and decent freezer, lots of cupboard space and easily enough glasses, cups, plates etc.
Bedrooms were large, modern clean bathrooms, everything was good.
We had a few questions leading up to the stay, all were answered quickly (same day) and positively.
Certainly recommend to anyone
