Compared to other marriotts I have stayed I think this one needs a make over, but considering, the area is practically old, is ok.
The staff is nice, they have free shuttles to take you anywhere you want in Monaco, the restaurants are fabulous, and the area is superb!!!! The best area in my opinion, private beach at 100 m. And really good and cozy restaurants also, loved it

We spent 6 days here in August 2014, my first impression was good as the check in was super fast. It literally took 3 minutes and our rooms were ready. We had a suite and connecting room. All though we could probably have stayed in the suite alone as it has a sofa bed in the living room area. Anyway, like I said the first impression was good. The staff are lovely and super friendly. Especially Kiril and Adrien at the reception. And Mauritzio who helped us with our cases. The hotel decor is good. Not great, but good. The food is good, especially the chicken wings and Caesar salad :-). The location is fantastic because it's minutes away from Monaco. So you can walk in or take the bus (the number 6 from just outside the hotel goes all the way round Monaco and Monte Carlo in one big loop). Trust me, use the bus, because the taxis in Monaco are few and far between. And the bus cost €2 per trip. Anyways the hotel is good and the prices aren't bad. I also like the fact that it isn't too busy. There are places to eat around the hotel. The reception staff would be happy to make reservations for you too! I will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room! There is a nice view of the marina and the sea :-)

The buses in Monaco are indeed very convenient to visit the Principality besides our complimentary hotel shuttle that takes you to some major touristic places. That's a great tip!
Be assured that we look forward to warmly welcome you back soon!

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and would reccomend it to everyone.
Hotel is located within marina that plays home to yachts of all sizes. We were walking distance from Monaco and the center of Fonteiville. Great for families. Staff was super friendly and we look forward to going back soon

Overall

I constantly travel for work and am in hotels 3-4 nights a week clocking up over 150 room nights last year. I travelled to Monaco for vacation and spent 10 nights here. The hotel is not in central Monaco but in Fontville next to the Football stadium.

The rates here are around £350 per night and that is for the classic room with views of the football training ground. EVERYONE when they check in is looking for an upgrade so checkin can be a little long.

We had called ahead and upgraded to a Riviera package which meant getting a see view and balcony plus unlimited mini bar and snacks. When we arrived the room we were given was a smoking one which was the last Riviera room there was. As non smokers we asked to move and had to downgrade the room to a sea view classic. After speaking with the concierge he was able to add the Riviera package to our new room and make sure housekeeping was aware. While we waited he sent us to the bar with his card and said the bill was on him. After half an hour he took s up to the room to make sure everything was OK. Great service.
The Riviera package (£50 extra per night) includes breakfast, L’occitane products, free mini bar and snacks, balcony etc. When you think breakfast is 25 euro each this is well worth it.
As we stayed we had to keep calling to get the mini bar restocked as I think this strange arrangement didn’t filter down to all the housekeeping staff.
The hotel can be very hard to find as Monaco is a nightmare to drive around, especially the back streets. Parking is available for a fee but we found that the small number of public spaces available overnight on the street only cost us 3.5 eur a night rather than the 20 in the hotel

Service
great service

Food
Breakfast is on the ground floor. There is a full cooked breakfast, other hot food stuff, breads and drinks, yoghurts, et etc. Some standard stuff from my experience

Value
How do you assess this – ITS MONACO. You can get cheaper places i guess as small hotels and guest houses but what you are paying here is room space and amenities. Nothing is cheap here.

Sleep Quality
Sleep quality for me is generally very good. Also depends on your through the wall “mate”. Walls not the thickest so louder nations are easily heard

Cleanliness
Very clean

Location
Short walk past the palace to the harbour, very close to the zoo..

Rooms
All of them have a good sized bed, LCD TV with internet and a desk to work at. Balconies on the sea view rooms and none on the back.

General
Nice clean hotel with good service in a good location.

Dear Iain F,

Thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel with other travelers, for sure this is very useful especially since you spent a 10 nights vacation at our property and, being a frequent traveler, used to spend 3-4 nights a week in hotels.
Sea view rooms are indeed guarantied against a small extra fee and it is nice to read that you enjoyed your Riviera package and that the staff managed to accommodate you the way you wanted.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back whenever you travel again in this area, be it for travel or leisure!

Best regards,

The personal attention at this hotel was off the charts! From the moment we arrived (at the wrong train station-should have got off in Monaco/not Cap D'ail) we were picked up by the most charming shuttle driver, Jon Reeves, and taken to the hotel...The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and the room overlooked the boats in the port harbor in the back of our hotel. This hotel is very close to downtown Monaco and Monte Carlo. The shuttle service is every hour but Jon took us whenever he could and offered the most interesting facts about the area, we really appreciated the time he took as though we had hired him as a tour guide! He really made our stay special as I was there to continue my 60th birthday and we only had one day to spend. We went to several of his recommendations and biggest regret is that we didn't stay longer! Thank you Jon and the rest of the hotel staff!

Room Tip: ask for a room with a terrace and sea view! not that much more and worth it!

Booked a double room - arrived late evening - Mountain View Room. No bell stand service provided, after self parking (N.B. No vehicles over 1.90M) - had to drag 3 large suitcases down 2 sets of steps to the reception - no elevator - making a lot of noise - receptionist ironically asked if we want some help with luggage :)) - Check in went reasonably well, downhill from there. Hotel is in urgent need of renovation - and was not in the cleanest of states in the public areas. The room was reasonably clean - however claustrophobically small - The bathrooms are offset into the next room allowing for better noise transfer from ones neighbours. The bed was sagging in the middle of each side and in need of renewal. The room service took over 1 hour to arrive - was not what we ordered - and was almost cold. Not so inspiring was the white tunic of the young lady who delivered our order, it was absolutely filthy with caked food - possibly she was the cook herself ? The night was reasonably quiet and restful. The bathroom was clean, and the shower worked well. The bathroom felt more spacious than the room with the scale of size - indeed the hotel seemed to be planned for another use - the 2 elevators are not in scale with the use of a hotel. After the quality of the food, the appearance of the staff, and general cleanliness we skipped breakfast. It took way to long for a simple check out and whilst waiting observed a general lack of organisation - paid 290 Euros for the pleasure plus 24 for parking - The price vs Value was a long way from being optimum. This is a tried hotel, and I am sure a difficult posting for the management.
I spend over 200 nights p.a. in hotels, generally avoid Marriott, re-confirmation of this decision, thankfully this experience has made me more appreciative of many of the other hotels I often frequent.

Room Tip: Get a sea facing room - the other "mountain" side is disingenuous in description as you lo...

Dear BatmansNr2,

thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectation and our usual level of service.

The best option to load and unload the luggage is to drive in front of the hotel where our bellboys assist, afterwards you can drive the car into the garage.

Our mountainview rooms are 24 sqm and indeed our seaview rooms have an additional balcony that gives a larger size and feel to the room. I would highly recommend to book the seaview room the next time, I am sure it will be a better solution for you.

In total we have 3 elevators, I am sorry to hear we did not indicate you the 3rd one just around the corner.

We took your comments in regards to our F&B seriously and you can be assured this is an exception.

We are happy to hear you were happy with the cleaniless of the room and the bathroom.

We hope to have the possibility to welcome you back at your next visit showing you the level of service we are known for.

Kind regards
