This was my seventh time staying at Hotel Normandy, and I will be back as soon as possible. First of all, this is a hotel with an unique atmosphere and people. The family that runs and owns it are warm funny art loving people. Some nights we had a glass of champagne with them and other guests, before going for dinner in Monaco or some of the local restaurants. The locations nearby Monaco is perfect if you want to combine some nights in crazy Monte Carlo with a more relaxed holiday in the cote d azur. I always meet some interesting people at this Hotel, and often end up having dinner or hanging out with them on the beach. Here you don`t have to dress to impress for breakfast. Chilled, sexy, nice seaview, bang on breakfast, value for money, arty, and so much more..

It's a cozy place, with lots of soul and a lot of great art on the walls. I experienced very good service and the hotel staff were always helpful. The French breakfast that was served was lovely. The location of the hotel is fantastic. The short road to Monaco is also a plus.
This is a hotel I can recommend

This is a little gemstone of a hotel with its unique style and distinctive feel.
You certainly wont find anything similar to this hotel with its friendly owners, the art on the walls, the location near Monaco and the beautiful beach with its lounge style nearby.
Its like walking into someones house, and you feel part of it,with its relaxing and laidback atmosphere and unique interior. This is a hotel for someone who likes the good life, without the pretencious, snobbish `seen it before' typical hotel.
its my third time here and certainly not the last

I stayed in Hotel Normandy and just had to say what a wonderful time I had when I stayed there. The location is perfect; one can walk to monaco along a beautiful costal path that is as picturesque as any in the world and the beach right next to the hotel has to be one of the prettiest I have ever been to in Europe. I cannot say enough about how kind and welcoming the staff were, and it was such a friendly atmosphere without being intrusive; it really made my trip. The hotel itself is a delight, with art hanging from the walls everywhere and the rooms were spacious and clean, and the view whilst having the wonderful breakfast they provided was the perfect way to start the day. This place was a wonderful find and an absolute treasure!

I stayed there for 3 nights with my husband and baby
We got a wonderfull spacious room with a sea view, a fresh french breakfast was served every day. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Located very close to Mala beach and Monaco, that you can reach either by walking one of the most beautyful walks on the sea shore or by taking the buss that goes all the time and only cost 1 euro.
Remeber to book a sea view room

We stayed for few nights in Hotel Normandy. It became very quickly clear to us that it was really NOT operating as a hotel but more like a Bed and Breakfast. If you like some privacy during your stay this is not your place of choice. Also the three parking spots advertised on their web page are apparently for the owners of hotel than guests? We were asked not to park there during our stay. The rooms were very tiny and the service (which was hardly exciting) very moody. The view is great and the breakfast was good.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Normandy Cap d'Ail is located only 5 minutes away from Monaco by car. Nearby is a very special beach called Plage Mala. This is one of the six secret beaches on the cote d'Azure. When you see it you will understand why. The beach is 10 minutes by foot. Hotel Normandy is a family run hotel. The hotel used to be an old Villa back in the old days. We are an artistic and bohemian family. Twice a year we invite artist to exhibit in the hotel. We try to inspire our clients and try to make them feel at home in this beautiful French little village. Our rooms vary in size. If you like to be comfortable we recommend the four seaview rooms at the front of the hotel; two of them have a small terrace. We also recommend the apartment suite; we recently put 3 rooms together to make a large and modern accommodation. This suite has a large bathroom decorated with marble, Italian designer shower, wash basin & WC. We have also renovated seven bathrooms this year (November 2010) in the hotel for our customer to enjoy our hotel even more. We have a following of many loyal customers that enjoy the old style of the hotel and others that do not want to spend too much money. We still have standard rooms at reasonable prices and smaller seaview rooms with view to Cap Ferrat. The rooms are cleaned and new towels are replaced on a daily basis. Our cleaning lady is of the old kind and she is part of the history of the hotel, as her father took part in building it in 1920s. A self service breakfast buffet is served in the dinning room. You will find coffee, cereals, fresh croissant and different types of bread from the baker nearby, orange juice, milk, ham, salami, marmalade, cheese and fruits when available. Please call and we will be glad to talk you trough the best choice for your stay. BisouHotel Normandy ... more   less
