Willy Bay is undergoing some upgrading works but that didnt affect our stay as we were out mostly in the day. We chose the Forest View chalet which the furthest away but love the privacy and peacefulness of it. Birds singing in the mornings, rustling of the Karri trees, just so serene..

Only a small hiccup when we arrived on a Sunday, we couldnt open the keylock code for the chalet but luckily a staff was around and gave us a spare key.

This is one of the most comfortable stays we had. There's a fireplace, kitchen with microwave and oven, washer & dryer (with laundry powder too!) outdoor griller, jacuzzi tub, heater lights in the bathroom so u dont shiver after a shower or soak.... every detail is so THOUGHTFUL.

Was a shame we didnt really get to spend more time in the chalets as we were out early mornings to explore MR and back in the evening when its dark... (driving in dark was quite scary, gotta turn on your high beam lights as the route to Willy Bay is pretty dark at night and gotta keep a lookout for animals too)

Room Tip: I would choose the Forest View chalets over the Lake view ones as there's more privacy and quiet...

Having had a fabulous stay at Willy Bay a few years ago, we were very keen to recommend to our friend who was heading to the west for his birthday. I arranged with Lisa to have the cabin decorated with a banner, but then at the last minute we were able to book a few days to coincide with our friends stay. The secret mission began. Hats off to Michelle and Keith, active participants in our plan to surprise our friends when they arrived at the cabin.
We had an amazing 3 night stay, loads of fun and much wine tasting. The cabins are as beautiful as we previously experienced. Our hosts have thought of everything right down to a roll of foil and cling in the drawers, spare linen, washing powder etc etc.
For those reading this and looking for finer details, the cabins are perfectly positioned in the middle of wine country. They have modern, spotless facilities and appliances. We had cabins 6 and 7 with lovely views over the dam, not at all affected by the current expansion. The BBQ on the patio was lovely and clean and ready to go.
It was cold and wet, but to come home to our gorgeous cabin, hit the switch on the gas log fire and enjoy just a bit more Margaret River wine was simply divine.
There is just one thing that could have improved our stay......to stay longer!
Till next time, thank you so much to Lisa, Michelle and Keith for all your assistance in ensuring a successful mission and fantastic stay.

Just finished a 4 night stay in chalet number 5, they are very well set up with everything you need, very clean and have a lovely gas fire place. This is our second stay and will come again. They are adding a reception centre for weddings and new chalets which will be lovely.
Metricup road is well placed to many good wineries, knotting hill next door is great for a tasting platter and some lovely wines.

Room Tip: Depends on what view you like, lake or vineyard both lovely.

We have stayed at Willy Bay Resort numerous times over the past year and it has become probably our favourite "home away from home". The chalets are well equipped and well presented and always immaculately clean. The managers, Keith and Michelle, are always friendly and helpful, as is Lisa. We also enjoyed meeting the super cleaning team of Leonie and Darryl. We have found Willy Bay a very peaceful place to be, even with construction going on. We've also enjoyed the wildlife, especially seeing the trio of kangaroos grazing, with their feathered companions nearby.

Room Tip: The washing machines & clothes dryers in the chalets are a godsend for those on long trip!

Was really impressed from the get go. Great communication from Lisa in reception - very welcoming, helpful & friendly. The chalets are lovely! Very clean, spacious, every thing you could need (including a complimentary bottle of red) to make your stay relaxed and as comfortable as possible. Beautiful view of the lake from our river view chalet. Will definitely recommend to family & friends and be coming back again! Thanks.

My husband and I, with our 2 kids aged 5 and 8 stayed 3 nights at the resort. As you drive into the grounds, it's peaceful and lovely. Although there is construction going on, my family was not affected. I imagine it will be much nicer once construction is completed. The booking process was smooth, although about 2 hours b4 we were due to check it, staff from Willy Bay informed us apologetically that there was a delay in our check in, which caused some minor inconveniences.

While the actual 2 bed room apartment was not particularly big compared to the other apartments in Margaret Ruver, it was well decorated and sufficient. My biggest surprise was the quality appliances that they fitted in the apartments. All appliances were Miele! It was very well equipped too, making it and ease for families with young children.

The sofa the in hall also turns out into a sofa bed, allowing 5 people in total to sleep in comfort.
Will definitely return again!

Just had a two night stay at these chalets, and we're very impressed with everything about it. The decor is very modern and stylish, plenty of room and everything is available to use for a self contained unit. Well thought out design makes it very private and romantic.
Only downside is the sink in the bathroom it is up very high, so that makes it difficult to use for shorter people. Also need a step stool to get into the shower, for shorter people also.
The grounds were pleasant, kangaroos very much at home there. They are extending the property so everywhere you look there is construction sites. Will be good when completed but messy now.
Overall a pleasant place to stay, in the heart of the wine region and about 20 minutes from Margaret river township.

Room Tip: One of the front chalets, so you don't overlook the others, we were in six and it was great.
