Very impressed. The only Silk Farm in Australia. We watched the film and then had an explanation of the process- silk worms at different stages.
The shop is full of reasonably priced silk items and there are tastings of mulberry teas and jams.
We also had a very tasty Devonshire Tea at the Café.
A stop to fit in with all the wineries e.t.c.

It was a little late on the day we called so we didn't get to see the silkworms or have a detailed explanation, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. The staff member we spoke to gave us a brief outline of how the silks are produced and explained some of the products.
Worth a visit for something different to the wineries.

Silk Road was recommended to us by a fellow traveller and we were delighted with the place. It's obviously the pride and joy of the owners who take an active part in the business. One of the owners gives visitors a fascinating insight into the workings of the silk industry and provides a really interesting talk aimed at all levels. The children soaked up the information while the adults were equally engaged. The products for sale are beautifully displayed and reasonably priced. There's a cafe attached and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. Give this new enterprise the support it deserves.

One of those delightful chance discoveries. It follows a similar style to the wineries, breweries and olive farms set up in the area. It was fascinating to hear the story of how the business started and it's gradual progress and hopes for the future. It was obvious the pride and enthusiasm in the staff who were happy to answer any questions. We felt we understood all the stages of silk production. The products for sale from silk, and mulberry teas, jams, candles etc, were varied, attractively displayed and reasonably priced.
The weather was too wet to use the cafe but it looked very attractive.
It was heartening to see another business providing local employment and adding diversity to the tourism industry. Will definitely visit in the future.

We visited this place as we wanted to let our schooling children to learn how silkworms can produce silk since she has started learning life cycles in school. The staff was very helpful and she brought us to this corner where they cultivate silkworms to produce the silk, the children learn about the life cycles, saw the real cocoon, and understand the process in making the silk. The end products, the colourful silks were beautiful too. They also grow mulberries and make them into jams, the taste was good and we bought a bottle back. It is worth a visit especially if you have young schooling children.
