Nice place for a young & alone traveller as I was.

- nice view and perfect location !!
- staff helpful and really nice
- really cheap
- it's clean but simple

Regrets on :
- room is not really warm, a little bit seedy to be honest
- bathroom is not comfortable

Advice : don't choose it for a romantic night ; and don't take it in winter (really really cold : no heater and no duvet...)

Price value is good. Rooms were clean, ok furniture, they had an english movie channel, excellent location, in-door tourist information, good restaurants nearby and really friendly staff. Not that good are the bit dirty hallways (stains in carpet) and the sheet that looked old and used (too much). Overall we had a good stay on a very good location for a good price.

Booked through booking.com a double room with large bed I got a single room with single bed. Tick.
The hotel is super basic and the carpet in the corridors tells you the story of good parties and late night drinks. If you wanna charge your mobile you have to unplug the TV and remember to bring with you a bottle of shower gel as the only thing you'll get here is a poor dose of gel enough for your legs only. A truly two stars accomodation in a good location though.

The location is great, the staff is great. But it reminds me of an old barracks room. The TV is smaller than my laptop, the beds are like Flinstone beds, and thank goodness I didn't see it until I was walking out, but there were huge cockroaches on the door frame outside of my room! As far as WiFI..you can just forget it. Routers and access points are everywhere, but extremely unstable. When the wifi is working, it is slower than a 56K modem.
Again GREAT staff, but they cannot change the fact that the hotel needs a major rehab or to just be torn down completely. Never again for me!

The most horrible place I've ever been! We couldn't stand the crowds of cockroaches and we went to a different hotel the next day. The cockroaches were literally everywhere!!! I was watching the other people having breakfast at the hotel breakfast room while the cockroaches climbilg the wall and I was wondering... Am I dreaming?? Not to mention the awful bathroom, the dirty sheets and the musty smell in the room.....Of course none of the above problems were acknowledged and as a result they didn't gave us a refund...

The hotel was very basic itself and good for the price. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the rooms were just so-so. Some of the rooms have water-front views from the balconies, but these open over the busy main street in St. Julian's and are quite noisy. Some of the other rooms on the side also have balconies and have a sliver of a view to the Water in Balluta Bay. However, my room had a constant mildew smell emanating from the bathroom. It was passably clean, but I noticed the floor had streaks of dirt (probably from a dirty mop being swilled around).

In my room (on the 5th floor), there was ample hot water and the water pressure was fine. However, I met up with some fellow guests on the flight home and they indicated they had no water pressure and their room had been on the 6th floor.

It was very noisy from the other guests on the same floor, with very thin walls. The bed was hard as a breadboard with very thin, flimsy sheets. One annoying thing that occured (and this was not necessarily the hotel's fault), was that the phone lines became messed up and I kept getting calls directly to my room from various travel agents wanting to book rooms. I explained to the front desk that there was something wrong with the phones but they were not able to fix the problem while I was there. I ended up unplugging the phone entirely as I received several calls from travel agents the first day and, despite explaining to them that I was not the front desk, they never seemed to grasp the information.

All in all, I'd say it was fair hotel. Okay for the price, but I would not recommend it nor would I stay there again the next time I travel to Malta.

Room Tip: Higher floors seem to have less water pressure.
