I wouldn't really class this place as a good hotel. There were no fridges in the room (we paid €3 per day to keep food), the whole place looked unfinished from the paintwork to tiling and hallway flooring, the elevator was tiny and the staff were not helpful.
Overall, it's in a spectacular location, has good hot water, working air-con, so you get what your pay for.

We booked a sea view room with a balcony, double bed and what we got was the total opposite. A dark dingy room with no balcony but a window with bars on next to a sidewalk which looked like a jail there was pipes hanging off the wall.
We had no balcony to dry our towels, no fridge to keep food and two twin beds that kept moving apart with raggedy sheets... Very romantic for a couples holiday.
We had stayed a night, then saw a cockroach running across the floor, I'd never seen one before so decided to jump on it and it crunched under my foot as I screamed at the top of my voice. How lovely does this sound?
The bathroom had some dodgy window that when you opened opened into the wall and was dark and dusty like something from a horror film.
The pool said it was across the road, so you would assume this was free and part of the hotel... Nope. It cost 9 euros per day per person and you have to pay for a day even if you turn up at 2pm. This adds up to a lot when you just want a dip in the pool cos you are fed up of getting stung by jelly fish in the dirty sea!!!
The wifi was crap and didn't reach our room. The lift was tiny and looked scary so I climbed up 6 flights of stairs everyday.

However it was clean, tidy, cleaners were good and friendly, staff receiponists were friendly and helpful. The air con worked. It was noisy at times especially with loud foreigners walking right outside your door all the time. Great location though, it's worth staying if you just want somewhere cheap to stay just don't expect anything amazing.

Room Tip: Doesn't work though

We were greeted at reception and given a complimentary drink on arrival. The hotel was spotless and the room was fantastic with stunning views over the bay. Small swimming pool but incredibly peaceful, not crowed and perfect for a quick dip to cool off. Receptionist incredibly helpful when we enquiries about any advice. The Zest restaurant is a must to visit if you love Thai or Asian cuisine.

This hotel has a great location in St Julian's, walking distance to both Sliema and the main area of Spinola Bay. The staff were very helpful and all spoke English well, and helped out with ideas on places to eat and things to do. The rooms were fairly spacious, although no fridge is a pain. The beds were pretty poor, quite hard and with the split mattress in the European style. The shower was quite dirty with mould stains. The other downside of this place is that it seemed to be a bit of a party hostel with lots of young Italians. Didn't really bother me and my partner too much but would likely be an issue for anyone with a family. Overall fair value for the price.

The hotel is OK if all you need is a place to sleep. It’s in a good safe location with bus stops just outside and a Carrefour (supermarket) only a 5 minute walk away. The aircon is very good and there is always plenty of hot water.

Basically it is like the shabbiest travel lodge you’ve ever seen and as others have said it needs a good make over, but the staff are generally very good and helpful, although the breakfast is not worth the money as there are better options available locally.

Probably the biggest issue is the WiFi – In reception it is fine, but in the rooms they have used so many repeaters on the landings all with different SSIDs, that they conflict with each other and coverage is almost nil. (If anyone from the hotel is reading this you need a mesh network – try googling OpenMesh or CloudTrax)

Many of the hotel guests appear to be Europeans in the 16 – 25 age range. When they can’t get WiFi in their rooms, they lie around reception (literally) giving the place the appearance of a youth club (and you can also expect loud doors banging at 2am when they come in!)

One final point, the hotel has a great collection of contemporary art by local artists. In fact the artwork is probably worth more than the furniture, so if you do stay there it is worth taking a look on all floors (which you’ll be walking to anyway as the lift operates infrequently).

It was serviceable. Clean but dingy around the edges. The a/c worked. It was clean but the linens were frayed. It was fine if you were looking for a place to sleep at night and not much more out of a hotel.
