“Best Ever!!!!”
Reviewed 19 February 2009

Oh … what a wonderful night we had last night. I had an opportunity to visit one of the finest restaurants in Malta and I must honestly say it is worth paying any money for such a great experience. Everything from the moment we stepped in was spectacular. Elegant décor, very pleasant ambience and the highly skilled, friendly staff made our evening very special and romantic. Wine selection is outstanding and the food server did a great job choosing a perfect wine to accompany a meal. From starter to dessert the food was absolutely amazing!! , beautifully presented and nicely cooked. This was for sure the best restaurant which we have been in my life and I would definitely go back. Many thanks to Huebert Mamo restaurant's owner, Nikolai and all the staff for creating a special atmosphere last night. It was simply the best!!

“Make sure to visit this one!”
Reviewed 16 February 2009

We were invited to a private dinner party at the Caravagio restaurant on Feb 14, 2009, and there were 5 of us. I have read the review of one of the "unhappy" customers and, I must admit, have had some doubts about the restaurant.
However, one after the other good experiences came along. The restaurant itself was decorated beautifully. The table setting was exquisite and different from what one usually expect to see on a Valentine's Day. The service was great from start to the end. We have been visited by the owner of the restaurant twice during the dinner. The waiter was very helpful and gave us an excellent advice what to order. They even organized an additional heater because we found the place just a little bit less worm than we expected it to be.
And then the food came. One after the other, the meals were delicious, presentation superb and portions just right size.
At the end the ladies in our party were given a flower to top up the very special dining experience.
If you haven't tried it, go!

“Fine dining meets Maltese cooking”
Reviewed 2 January 2009

My wife and I ate here once during a December 2008 stay at the Hilton hotel nearby.

We were looking at the menu board outside one morning when the owner invited us in to see the new kitchen and nice decor.

We had visited in previous years - three years ago when it was a Moroccan theme and two years ago when it was an uninspiring Indian.

The meal was nice and reasonable value given the location (million euro motor yachts bobbing nearby) but Maltese food does not really lend itself well to the small portions with exquisite taste that "fine dining" usually entails.

We preferred the El Ghonella Maltese restaurant nearby in a 16th century cellar.

“good time”
Reviewed 22 November 2008

7 of us had a very enjoyable meal here and could not fault any of the dishes we had.
the owner took the time to talk to us and explain some of the dishes and the very good art work which adorns the walls.
the ambiance and the decor is lovely here and we all had a great night.
it was pricey but you have to expect it a little for the set up they have. you cant really expect to pay peanuts for a meal on portomaso as the establishments have to pay for the privelage of having a place on the marina.
i would not hesitatate to re visit.
