If you expect a reasonable nights sleep do not book these apartments, they are definitely not suitable for families.

The rooms are a good size and reasonably clean (I have stayed in worse), but I would only give this place a 2 star rating. The shower tray is too small and does not hold the water, which can run into the living area, the beds are not comfortable.

You should also be aware that there is a lap-dancing club (lower ground floor), bar (ground floor) and nightclub (first floor), which use the same complex. There is also the same with in metres of the apartments. I would have issues with fire safety within the apartments.

All in all if you want to be in the centre of things and don't mind no sleep, loud music and street noise until 6am with the numerous clubs and pubs emptying and don't have much money then these apartments are for you. But if you like to enjoy a night out and go to your room to rest then my advice is find somewhere else.

Room was clean, big, spacious and comfortable. Excellent value for money, brilliant location although did get very loud at night which wasn't a big deal for us as we were a group of young women looking for a relaxing holiday and nights out. Would discourage families from staying as the area has a very strong going out culture. Very much an independent stay you don't see many staff when you are there but not an issue as when in doubt you can look for staff in the bar downstairs. Gets particularly loud Thursday - Sunday.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on top floor to avoid noise.

Unfortunately we decided to holiday on a budget & wished we hadn't!
The staff ie houskeeper-Helen was lovely & always kept our room as clean as was humanely possible! & Tony was very welcoming but difficult to contact as there is no reception area, you are straight off the street between two nightclubs!.Which becomes very apparent from 6pm to 4am weekdays, but till 5am Fri & Saturday, this in itself wouldn't have been so bad, but for the huge amount of Bass on the music, if you could call it music, so take your earplugs.!
There are three single beds with clean sheets, but grubby looking covers, decidedly old pillows which were either very thin or very fat! there was no mattress cover, so I took the sheets off the third bed & used them.
There was a kitchen area with a fridge, two hobs and small oven, cutlery & crocks were adequate.
Shower cubicle ceiling was covered in mould as was the curtain, we were given adequate towels & extra by Helen who didn't have any bath mats, so we used hand towels on the floor as she suggested.
The area in itself was allright & we never felt at risk & was near enough to walk to nice restaurants & the bay & shops, & buses around the island were within walking distance.but we will definately not be returning to this accomodation. We have learnt a hard lesson & were glad to be home! Which is a shame as Malta is a lovely very interesting island, with very pleasant friendly, helpful people

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and on the top floor, may be slightly quieter

This is how a hotel should be, neat room with everything working, airco, wifi, even a small kitchen. It's right in the middle of paceville, so bring earplugs or enjoy the night at the soho lounge below. They also gave no problems with being one day late, really nice.

The property was in a fantastic central location and was very good value for money. Our room was clean and perfectly suitable. We were given keys, explained where the facilities were, and then set free to explore Paceville!
I liked how we felt very secure during our stay here, room was nice and warm, great shower always hot. Roomservice and clean towels every day...

The staff were absolutely the best! Thanks Godwin Micallef!!

Regards,

Ursula Rojas.

At EUR 44 a night this was great value, but I must stress that we had booked a studio at Empire Studios (right in the middle of Paceville Square, which is very, very loud at night) and when we arrived late at night we were moved (upgraded) to the Poseidon building, just round the corner and much quieter. The entrance hall to Poseidon is a bit run down and you need to be fairly slender to squeeze into the elevator! But the 2-bedroom apartment was very nice if a bit utilitarian and functional – clean, bright and well-tiled and painted, with a good bath and comfortable beds. The manager (Godwin) was very helpful and responsive to requests. Great location, and we hope to return.

Room Tip: Empire is right in the noisy area. If you want somewhere a bit quieter (but just round the corner...

I picked Empire Studios because it was the cheapest option available; as a result, I wasn't expecting much, so I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of my stay. First and foremost, the location is unbeatable - right in the heart of Paceville, mere steps from the island's best nightclubs, and a very short walk to St Julian's bus station and promenade. The rooms themselves are basic, but with all the essentials (kitchen supplies, air conditioner, TV, free wifi, etc.), and spotless. Although these are apartment-style rooms, you still get daily housekeeping (cleaning, fresh towels, etc.). The staff are friendly and very accommodating (I had no problems with a late checkout, arrival after midnight, not having cash on me for the deposit, etc.). Highly recommended all in all, and I would stay here again without hesitation
