We stayed for a 3 nights at The George for a weekend break, and stayed in a family room and a double room. The hotel's location is very convenient with many restaurants nearby. Hotel lobby looks impressive and the breakfast room with atrium roof was bright and comfortable, but food selection was average. The rooms were spacious and housekeeping needed more attention. The family room was laid out with 4 separate single beds, rather than combining two into a kingsize bed and leaving the other two as twins. The family room was provided with 4 towels on the first night, then reduced to 3 on the second night and eventually down to 2 on the third night. This room had a balcony, but the attracts noise from the street and bars nearby. However, the double room was worse! The room telephone wasn't plugged in, the room had a smokey smell and to make matters worse, the air-conditioning didn't work. Luckily it was still cool at night by keeping the windows open, but couldn't get rid of the smell. We reported the fault to management but they couldn't change the room for us, so we requested for free breakfast as compensation. This request was passed from one staff to another and we wondered whether getting the manager's approval was an excuse. The spa pool in the basement was also ill-managed. There were showers but no changing or locker facilities and the shower rooms were unisex, but didn't have locks! The main pool was small, water was merky and the water jets were not working, the sauna room was not hot enough and the steam room was even worse. All-in-all, The George looks like a 4-star hotel, but 2-star management.

This was a lovely hotel. Clean, central and comfortable. But...there was construction work goin on at a building next door out the back! It would start at 7 o'clock some mornings but definitely by half 8 the drilling and banging was well under way! It was impossible to sleep through! When I complained about it to reception they seemed oblivious and apologise for the inconvenience but nothing changed the next day!

Thank you for your time in reviewing The George. I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience during your stay with us.

The works that were being carried out were in an office block by the hotel. These works have now been completed and no further works are being carried out.

I hope that your next visit to The George will be a pleasant one.

Thank you once again.

I can't really criticize this hotel. The service was top notch. We booked the courtyard room and were upgraded into a studio free of charge. It is very well kept, friendly staff, and very clean. Once you enter the room, you actually find the TV switched on with relaxing background music. Nice!! Inside, the amenities actually feel like a 5 star hotel.

The price is OK compared to the other 4 star hotels in Paceville. We paid 130 euros for 2 nights without breakfast. Of course this is no good compared to great hotels in Bugibba, but at least Paceville is more central, and you'll find anything you'll need in the area. I particularly like the area in which it is built, as it is both close to St Julian's Spinola Bay, and close to the Paceville nightlife area.

Having said that, you won't be hearing any music from the clubs if you're trying to sleep. On Saturday night you might hear the occasional drunken fellow shouting in the middle of the street, and this will still get through any double glazed window. The problem we faced with sleep quality was unrelated to nightlife, but rather to construction works that were happening under us. We heard hammering and drilling sounds which penetrated our room at 7:30 am on Sunday! I informed the reception about this and they told us that it wasn't really something they had any control on. I completely understand this, but if they were doing the work, I expected them not to start at 7.30 am, and definitely not on a Sunday. My tip would be to check if there are any works going on before you book.

The other reason why I gave this hotel a 4 is the street. Nothing attractive here. You won't find any sea views. Actually the buildings close are quite dodgy. Having said that its fairly priced (although slightly over priced) and still close to all great areas.

I recommend this hotel to all age groups, but particularly to those aged between 22-40 because of its area and modern style.

Entering The George Hotel was already a wonderful experience, the reception area with beautiful and relaxing colours all around....smiles from the staff makes you feel at home! The room was fabulous, extremely comfortable and cosy! The rooms both bedroom and public were spotless, and maintained perfectly,
The food was awesome, we celebrated New Year's eve buffet dinner, there was an enormous choice of delicious food and also flowing wine. We enjoyed every second of the evening. The staff in all departments I found to be friendly, professional, courteous and helpful, the breakfast buffet was more than ample with virtually every taste catered for. Conveniently located to get to most attractions. Bus service terminus very near to the hotel. 2 minute walk to Pace ville, near shops, cinema, bowling, casino, restaurants and lots of bars/clubs. Good distance to avoid noise from nightlife. I'll definitely go back there for my next holiday and take more friends with us! I highly recommend it!

Not one brochure or any information about hotel in room. When u have a shower the fire alarm sets off every single time. Good location. Car park pretty expensive. AC was not functioning properly in room 123. Will surely not go again.

I have been to the George Hotel for 3 months and I think it is a good hotel! The staff is very kind and the rooms and the design of the hotel is fantastic! They have 2 swimmongpools, one on top of the hotel (6th floor, and even when you're there, you can order food or drinks and get it there.) and one at level -1. This one is part of the spa. In the restaurant they serve only breakfast and on sunday lunch. You can park your car in the garage which they charge on your room. I would recommend this hotel to a friend for sure!! It is beautiful!!

I stayed in this hotel during the month of November with my boyfriend and we both really appreciated our stay. The design of the hotel in itself and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. We took a studio room with a kitchen which was very clean and included all facilities in it in order to cook. The only down point in the kitchen was the oven which didn't have an instruction manual and was complicated to use and no one in the hotel knew exactly how to help. Other than that, cleaning was globally good and our towels were changed every day and staff was very nice and.
The hotel is located near the center and bars so it is true there are sometimes noise of people passing but it never bothered us too much and we were always able to sleep.
On thing that was slightly disturbing was that no free wireless connection was available in the rooms but only in the lobby downstairs with 4 computers available free of charge.

Globally, a very nice and pleasant stay and I would happily go back to this hotel!
