Spent 4 nights at this hotel situated very conveniently in St Julian within easy walking distance of the marina and some great restaurants. Also close to bus stops for easy transport links aroiund the island. The hotel and my room was comfortable and clean. Bath and shower and TV. Staff very helpful, Breakfasts buffet style but nicely done. I did'nt eat dinner but the menu looked very basic. Having said that I suspect most people would want to sample the fabulous restaurants in St Julian so this hotel is not seeking to compete. There is a rooftop sun terrace and pool area.

We were in Malta in January. From the moment we walked through the door the staff were welcoming and helpful. Prefer one large bed to two twins? (reservation didn't specify options or something, we must have goofed) - "just 5 minutes, we'll fix it." Need a bottle opener for our wine here? "just a minute, the bartender over there will open it for you" (AND he put into and ice bucket with real glasses so when we walked into the room 10 minutes later it was waiting). When we needed assistance with directions or booking something, the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everythign done with an attitude of true hospitality.
The building itself and the room were the cleanest I have ever seen. I believe the place was built in 2011. It is modern and very attractive.
The breakfast buffet was very very good. Lots of choices even for the hard to please: several cereals like corn flakes, granola, something sweet for kids; pastries, croissant, pound cake; cold cuts cheeses, veggies; fresh fruits and fruit salad; rolls, bread and toaster; a man with skillet will make eggs your way (we put cheese and veggies on our plate and asked for omelets). Plus juices, coffee/espresso machine, many teas.
Small details that were nice: There are shelves and shelves of used books, many languages, in the lobby so you can buy one for a couple of Euros. And I suppose lighten your luggage and leave one behind. There is an umbrella stand inside the front door, kind of a need-one-take-one-please bring it back deal.
I liked being in St. Julian. We had to take the bus to see Valletta, which is also the bus terminal where all roads lead if you need to go elsewhere. We never rented a car and got on quite well. Lots of cute restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood. The hotel is on a quiet street a few steps from the picturesque harbor.
The only negative thing I can say is the view was not particularly inspiring. The long side of the building where our balcony was faces the neighborhood, and if you haven't seen Malta you need to know there is a lot of rubble and old dilapidated stone buildings everywhere. People just live in and around it. It was fun watching the cats hang out on rooftops, laundry being hung out, and daily renovation progress (don't worry , all interior, not noisy). The bathroom window on the narrow end faced the water...go figure. Oh, there is a pool on the roof which, being January, we did not use. Great views from THERE though...it would have been pleasant to take a glass of wine up there for happy hour before dinner but they lock the door at 5. Oh well.
Anyway, the positioning of the hotel and its windows were not the fault of the staff, who as I said were truly warm and welcoming. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at, bar none, and I would definitely come back next time in Malta.

We stayed at this hotel from 4th to 12th April 2013, a couple from Ireland. We were very very pleased with our stay at this hotel, the service was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and helpfull. The location was great just off the main street in St.Julians, and close to the bus stop which brings you into Valletta the capitol of Malta. The hotel was quiet, we never heard a sound, we stayed on 4th floor, Room 402, which also gave us a sea view. The room was spotless, very clean and airy, just like the hotel. We were spoilt for choice with breakfast, salads available, fresh meats, bacon, egg, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurts, everything you could possibly think of, and plenty of everything. The dining room again spotless - just like the hotel. I couldnt really fault the hotel in any way, I can be very picky when it comes to hotels, but this one I can 100% recommend, it ticked all the boxes for us.

Room Tip: Stayed in a Comfort Room, 4th Floor, Room 402, with a sea view, beautifull.

This was an aove average property where everything eas immaculate, the staff over the top helpful anrd the service impeccable. The only down side was youcould hear noise outside your room. Everything about this hotel was exceptional and I really wish all hotels were as good as this one. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices including made to order eggs. We enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the room upgrade.

Room Tip: Great Thai massage place around the corner. The Avenue restaurant is a good place to eat.

Hotel immaculate. Staff first class, Location perfect. Great breakfast. Two small problems for us. Shower screen allowed water to pour onto the floor when using the shower. Found it impossible to fathom how to adjust air conditioning. My room was 411.

To the reviews above just want to add a few points:
1) there was not enough water in the shower for 2 people; the second person had to finish with cold water;
2) the stuff appeared very friendly and even let us check in earlier, however, I have a suspicion that their 'suggestions' whether to take public transportation to sight-seeings or buy a tour have motives other than being helpful. In particular,
a. we were told that the best way to visit Gozo was to buy a tour on a hop-on hop-off buss as opposed to public transportation that would take us 2 hours one way. We bought the tour. It turned out that if one wanted to be on time for the last transport back to St Julian's with the same tour, one hardly had any time to view 2-3 places where the bus supposedly stops. (That goes to the poor quality of the tour, but also to the honesty of the personnel). Disappointing by the tour, we decided to take a regular bus back to St Julian's. This took us 1 hr (30-40 minutes by the prearranged bus) and cost 2.60 (and we could use the same ticket for the whole day everywhere in the country), as opposed to 10 EUR per person with the tour.

b. I arrived to Malta for a business trip and took a taxi from the airport to St Julian's. The taxi was easy to arrange at the airport at the taxi stand, a new clean car and the ride cost 20 EUR. One could also opt for a ride with a van for 5 eur per person. My husband joint me for the last 2 days and we moved from Hilton to Argento. When we asked the receptionist at Argento to call a taxi for us, the company they called sent a van for 10-11 people, dirty as if they transported sacks of potatoes in there, smellly, and it also cost us 20 eur. On all other occasions we took a taxi in Malta, it was always a clean new car. Sometimes one takes a taxi not only to make it from A to B but also for comfort. We did not get it.

The two examples, plus the fact that both taxi and the tour companies verified the name of our hotel and the receipt listed the name of the hotel stuff who acted as an intermediary, make me think they have a deal with those companies and in picking those they are not motivated by the client's interest or comfort. Perhaps, they receive a share of profits.

3) I chose a (more expensive) room with a balcony. The balcony was about 0.5x1m, purely nominal, on the street side, facing a student apartment complex. On Saturday night the students had a party, so we could not open a window. The airco wasn't working (although the room was hit to 25 degrees C, the only option we had was to keep the HEATING OFF).
