We have just returned from a 12 night stay at the Hilton Malta and were not disappointed! We have stayed for the past 4 years and will probably do so again next year if not before! Everyone in the hotel is pleasant and polite, and seem happy! We are Hilton Honours Gold members and have been to lots of different Hilton hotels including the Waldorf Astoria Cavalieri in Rome but this is the best by far! It is friendly and welcoming from the reception staff to the pool attendant who usually meets and greets and makes sure you have all you need. It is also a corporate hotel so there are lots of functions going on but this adds to the lively atmosphere. The Executive lounge is the jewel in its crown, although we have noticed that the alcoholic drinks have been somewhat reduced! This was slightly disappointing! John in the Executive Lounge is friendly and helpful and does all he can to make things great! The staff on the Executive Lounge reception are also really friendly and helpful and are fonts of nearly all knowledge! We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times and the food - especially the Mediterranean Buffet are really good value for money if at first they seem expensive - they are not if you take into account the sheer choice and number of courses! The cleaner did a really good job and was thorough in what she did.
The indoor pool was very clean with no smells but we did think the showers in the ladies were a little dated?
We were a family of four with a special birthday and a honeymoon for my sister, and the hotel did their best to make this so special - thank you to all!
We have tried to find fault and can't but for one exception - the WiFi!! It was troublesome and problematic from the start, not helped by the change over of provider mid way through our break - the only thing, but it did cause quite a lot of inconvenience!
We ate at several restaurants in the area - avoid Piccolo Padre as the service was terrible! Starters did not arrive and although we were promised deserts as compensation, no one came to take our order so we left in disgust!
