Stayed for 5 nights in October for an Autumn break. There were a few things which didnt inspire me with confidence about the room which were related with cleanliness. Firstly, when we got there the room smelt old and musty, even with the outside door open. In the bathroom the sink was half full with water and lots of hairs from cleaning in. The carpet was old and very warn. Worse of all, the first night when I went to sleep I could feel little lumps under the sheet and found out there were (many) small pieces of bread between the mattress and sheet, which I sweeped off onto the floor at 2am in the morning. Apart from these things, we had a good stay at the hotel and was pleasantly suprised by breakfast after the reviews here (Coffee was fine, there was a choice of hot and cold food, although it was incredibly busy in the mornings). However, would probably not stay again if in Malta.

The room at the hotel are nice and it is well located but I have to say that the service an food are terrible (how can you mess up the water). The people at the reception area are rude and very unprofessional. The food at the restaurant is not very good (don’t take your lunch or dinner there), the breakfast is included, but I advise you to go to the nice bakery close to the hotel.

We had a travel first time to Malta and enjoyed that country very much. We had many excursions inside of country, beautiful and interesting but I did not like the hotel Vivaldi. Sorry to say that I was dissapointed first time since we arrived. They gave us a room that we did not book with our agency travel. I was forced to call in my country and discuss with the agent and after he talked to hotel the problem was solved. The room are old like furniture and all they have inside, and they have 4 stars not 2. I saw much better for such stars in other countries. The breakfast poor somehow same food every day, nothing less nothing more. The cleanliness not so good, dirty on the balcony. The other guests there they are usual to disturb other clients. I saw some horrible scene from our balcony. The staff of the desk it seems do not care about that and do not nothing. Also they are not friendly staff and not ready to help the guests. Sorry for that and specially for their stars. They must learn a lot about they must treat the guests. For sure if I come back in Malta I shall choose other hotel.

For a second year we were at the Vivaldi 13 - 20 September 2012. We still love this hotel. The buffet breakfasts are tremendous, as are the evening meals. Huge choice of mediterranean-style cuisine, well prepared, fresh ingredients, and the patisserie is wonderful. The staff are endless polite and patient, especially given the number of travellers passing through, many just for an overnight stay. The downside is that because of the volume of traffic through the hotel, some of the bedrooms are beginning to look slightly tired, though still good quality furniture and fittings, and a large bathroom. Since our stay in 2011 the lifts have been upgraded so that they react like lightening. We discovered the lower ground floor gym this year, with an excellent indoor heated pool of good size, with well-appointed shower facilities alongside. All in all the Vivaldi is good value and offers a comfortable stay. The rooftop outdoor pool is excellent, but for luxury you can cross the road and pay to go into the Beach Club there for the day.

Room Tip: Obviously sea views are best......

This hotel is no better than OK - Not very clean, generally it could do with a refurb, since the decor is very tired.

Staff are curt and at sometimes a little rude. Breakfast room is very crowded at peak times.

Room Tip: Some street noise - ask for higher floor.

We stayed in this hotel for 8 days in september 2012 and almost all of our colleagues were dissatisfied with the place. First they want to charge your entire stay without even showing your room. Many of us needed to wait couple of hours as rooms were not ready. Upon arrival sheets were not clean(!) as well as during the entire stay somehow we had the feeling that cleaning is far from being proper, carpets , all corners are dirty, hair left in bathroom and even if you ask for cleaning of the room there is no particular change. WiFi is not free. Breakfast quality is poor, and we had to beg everyday for tea bags! There are plenty of cheaper but better quality hotels in close distance so do not choose it.

We booked our week's holiday with Riviera Travel and were not disappointed. From the moment we were met at the airport to the return trip we were well looked after. Good quality and varied food each day, catering for all tastes. Well air conditioned, spacious rooms some with small balconies (side hotel) others on 6th floor have terraces. When booking ask what is available. Good sized dining room. Have a look on u-tube for video of amenities which include a roof top swimming pool and retaurant area. We would certainly go back there.

Room Tip: Side and rooms facing the sea have the best views and least noise unless you have a noisy next door...
