I Travel to Malta at the end of February and i stayed to G.T.V for 3 nights in a superior room. The room was very clean and large with sea view, LCD television.
I would rate this hotel to 4 start minus.

The hotel seems nice but when we entered the room the smell was unbearable....humidity stains on the wall..under the curtain...It was our first time in a 4 stars hotel...so my standards are not very high...I slept in decent places for £15!!!
First thing we did was open the window ( and I kept open it every hour)
My boyfriend after 30 min stopped to smell the humidity..He kept saying it was me exaggerate it but as we went back home and opened the suitcase he run to put on the washing machine:all our clothes were smelling!!!
Ps is it normal in a 4 star hotel mould also in the bath?because there were..next to the bath tap....

Me and my friend just returned from a 5 day stay in the Golden Tulip in Malta. We got a great deal for a trip so we plesantly surprised at the beautiful and large reception and bar area as we entered. Definitely 4 star quality. The rooms however, were more 3 star-the room we had was average size with all what you would expect in a room, but nothing special or extra. It was clean and warm though and had a lovely balcony out onto the gardedn which was quiet in Novemeber but could imagine it being very noisey and busy in peak season. The bathroom was large and clean.

The indoor pool was clean and relaxing but the gym was very small and poorly equipped. It had 2 bikes, a treadmill, a stepper and a few random weights but these were all quite worn and old. Therre was no fresh air or air con in there and no water station or even some paper to wipe the machnes after. But it did the job.

The breakfasts were fantastic and the choice we were given each morning was excellent. Everything from cereals to fried meats to pastries to cold meat salads. I would go back just for the variety of fresh breads!

We ate at the dinner buffet one evening and again were happy with the choice for €16 pp. Very tasty. But the tea was extra which was a foreign concept for us Irish people!

Pricces at the bar and room service were very resonable compared to other countries and the bar cocktails were excellent too. The bar area was relaxing, if a bit quiet in the off season.

I had my hair cut in the hairdressers by a lovely girl who gave me lots of local information. The cut was good and at a good price.

In all, we found the staff to be only adequate which we were dissapointed with. Whats makes a 4 star a 4 star can often be the staff and at the Golden Tulip, this is where they slip up. None (from the reception staff to the breakfast staff to the dinner staff) went out of their way to be friendly (not to mind helpful or obliging). The barmen were nice as was the hairdresser but that was it.

The location is good and Paceville and many fantastic restaurants are literally around the corner. The bus from Valletta (via Sliema) is about 3 mins walk away. So handy!

We enjoyed our stay because we got a good deal and the prices were cheap compared to home but definitely room for improvement.

This was the hotel booked for our tour to Malta. I doubt if we'd have picked it ourselves. Our room faced the nightclub across the street, and the noise was unbelievable! Then in the mornings, you'd hear the trucks shifting gears at the corner.
Breakfast was included, and even though it didn't change from day to day it was always good. We had dinner there a couple of times, and that food was good too. I didn't experience any raw chicken that other reviewers have mentioned.
The staff was friendly and helpful as we found just about everyone in Malta.

Good location hotel. A nice 4 star with big rooms, a double consists of 2 queen beds. I had a side sea view room which had no veranda and was very noisy. Choose a back room as St Juliens can be very noisy. The hotel opposite is a students paradise and all guests shout and scream at each other.
The staff at the hotel were very helpfull and gave us all the info we needed as well as booked tours. There is a travel agent next to the hotel which is very helpful. Breakfast is plenty with lots of variety. The only downside is the hotel pool on the roof, very small. Malta has very few beaches and the St Juliens is only a 10 minute walk but not the best i have been to. Travel by bus to the golden bay beach, this is nice. Buses are very easy but i would have rent a car next time...there will def be a next time in Malta, a pleasant surprise!

We spent our holiday in Vivaldi Hotel, which was great hotel. A bit old but clean, and friendly staff. The food was delicious, but the waiters were the best we've ever met. If we ever get back to Malta we will definetely stay at Vivaldi again.
We loved it.

me and my partner stayed here for 1 week and i thought the hotel was good but my partner wasnt so keen on it as i was the bedrooms are quite basic we didnt have a balcony which we had requsted we had seperate beds which were very comfortable the bedroom was also very clean and our bedroom also had a tv with satalite tv with about 5 english channels which was good when we had to stay in the night that my partner was ill .the breakfast was ok they had full english breakfast as well as a selction of bread, youghurts and cereals i really enjoyed the selction of breads i did have the english breakfast once but wasnt very keen on it and my partner ended up having food posining from it which ruined one of our evenings.the lift system is quite strange we needed to use a keycard for the lift to get to our room and we also had to take two lifts to get to our room .i would recommend going on tours and visiting diferent parts of the island as it is very beautiful and not to be missed we went to valleta the capital of malta we also visited mdina which is a very old and very small city we also went to gozo which is maltas sister island and a must see we also visited comino and the blue lagoon which is compleatly breathtaking theres not much to do on comino as there are no shops, bars or restaurants on the island and only about 3 houses .the only real complaint i would have about the hotel apart from my parnter getting food poisening from the breakefast is that we ordered breakfast to come our room 1 day which you can do by filling in a card and hanging on your door the night before well it didnt come so that was a bit of a dissapointment and 1 evening we orderd room service which was just awful but apart from that the hotel and its staff were great
