Great hotel in general, good service, great location, amazing suites. My wife and I spend 6 days and 5 nights at one of their bay suites, as the starting of our annual vacation period (from 6/8 to 11/8). The hotel needs a little maintenance, general paint will be a good idea. The suites area is great with kitchen, living room and dinning room, 2 full bathrooms and a terrace where you may have a great meal in the outside. Unfortunately the furniture at the terrace was really old and more important without maintenance, the small grass was not cut properly so gives you the impression of not been take care of, another small detail was the fact that you need to walk to the suites through the main building making a big turn through the lobby, completely unnecessary. The service at the concierge (Mallcolm) just great and the bartender at the beach club (Santi) outstanding. We will be back at the hotel and will recommend it anyway.

Room Tip: If taking a suite, take the ones in the second floor, for security.

This is a review as a family person with 2 kids looking for a place to enjoy for summer holidays.
The hotel was extremely child friendly and from the moment we arrived we were treated as esteemed guests and never once did we feel like a burden. We were given n excellent room overlooking the Med, which had plenty of room, a clean bathroom and comfy beds and a a/c which worked. The room was always well stocked with complimentary drinking water and bathroom items like soap, lotions etc.

The resort had something for everyone pools (in door and outdoor), casino, restaurants. Other patrons were also of a good quality and we didnt see any of the usual continental arguments for sunbeds.

All in all, we will return, only gripe which results in the downgrading from excellent in the food. For a five star this can be much better. For example their pool side and bar menu was too limited (and the battered prawns had no prawn!) and if they want to do theme nights like Chinese food, they must ensure it is Chinese and not an oriental/ mediteranean mish mash, as otherwise paying 29 EUR for a Chinese buffet is not pallatable. Despite this the daily buffet in the evening was good in terms of service and the sweet dishes were out of this world ! Also in this day and age, who charges for internet access, come on Westin sort it out! I know the internet is free in the lobby, but again a business tactic to get your residents to spend in the bar?

I would say the location of the hotel, easy access to private beaches (with pristine waters and lifeguards to hand) and the staff really make this place.

Our main goals was to have a great holiday with our kids and that was certainly achieved.

Room Tip: Join the Starwood program upfront and you may get a good room.

We have just returned from our holiday at the Westin, whilst we have visited before I again felt I had to share this fabulous experience. This place is simply the best I have experienced at mixing luxury and a relaxed summer break with the family. We travelled with our two kids aged ten and six, together with Grandparents. Every member of our party describes it as the best ever holiday venue. You must try a meal at the terrace bar restaurant, the manager there Ramon is superb and along with Liane create a wonderful atmosphere and represent the Westin values perfectly. Please do check out the concierge service provided by Malcolm and George, these guys are the best I have experienced anywhere in the World.

Our stay at the Westin Dragonara was great but not fully satisfied. The rooms are clean and we had a Bay Suite with a fantastic view of the sea and perfect for four persons because of the space. The room also had two bathrooms! The only not so great thing is that because the area has a lot of nightlife you hear loud music late at night. The breakfast at the morning is good but be early because between 9 to 10 am most of the guests eat. At lunch we ate at the ORVM bar and the first time we had pizzas wich were great but the second time we were really dissapointed. My dad ordered a cesar salad but it was floating in mayonaisse and my mom and i ordered bacon burgers and they were dry. So the food depends on the chef in the kitchen wich is not acceptable for a five star hotel. The pool is great but there is a second larger pool wich is great for kids because they can play with inflatable pool toys. The service is great and the hotel aswell but as said they need to change a few things.

Room Tip: We had 210 a Bay Suit, Great but noisy.

I just completed a 10 night stay at the Westin Dragonara resort and everything was so wonderful that it prompted me to write my first review on trip advisor! The rooms are so spacious and comfortable. We had an amazing view of the pool and the sea with a lovely balcony. The service at the hotel was great and everyone is so friendly and always looking to make your stay more enjoyable. The restaurants had a wonderful selection of food at fair prices for a hotel of that quality which was very much appreciated since I was traveling with my children. We especially loved having drinks each evening in the lobby bar as the sun began to set. I stayed at this hotel over 10 years ago on my last visit to Malta and kudos to the management and staff for continuing to upgrade the standards and resort. My one suggestion and it would not take away from my rating is that I wished they had more organized activities for kids at the pool. There were a lot of children and having children myself it would of been great if there was some staff that organized activities by the reef club pool, perhaps volleyball or something along that order. On the schedule by the kids club there said that there was mini Olympic pool games but I never saw that, perhaps it was only for small kids. Other resorts that I have visited in the Caribbean do this sort of thing all day, pool races, mini pool scavenger hunts and even bingo poolside for a nominal fee with prizes. Again, all was perfect at this resort and I would like to thank everyone at the hotel for a wonderful and enjoyable vacation!
