The Radisson is one of the best hotels in Malta .The best and most expensive is the Hilton, then the Radisson and all so competing with it the Excelsior and all so a five star hotel after these follows the Corinthia. All these are very famous hotels and there are many more but these are my personal favourites.Radisson isn't rated as good as Hilton but in my opinion i prefere it.Why??? Maybe cheaper prices ??No,not only(Ok,that counts:) )In Malta there are two Radissons -one in St Julians and one in Ghajntuffiegha . I prefer the on in St julians and all the teenagers do.This Radisson is near Paceville and Baystreet -The Maltese Nightlife. You can go be steps there and you can find a bowling area annd a cinema too plus a shopping complex. When the OTHER Radisson is good for 'old' people as it is near the sea and ther is a lot of nature and quite.Radisson Blu Resort has delicious food with a very convinient 24/7 restaurant. It has room service and the rooms are very clean . The pools are fabulous .Everything is really good and believe me ignore the negative comments.....enjoy :)

Spent ten nights here over Christmas and was very pleased with our choice, we knew about the roadworks and the fact it is out of the way, the reason we chose this hotel in the first place was on the rating from tripadvisor. We went out of season booking through travel republic and got a great deal half board for 10 nights 16th to 26th December for £860 for the two of us.
Room was lovely but i felt we should upgrade to nicer room if price was right, hotel offered us a jacuzzi suite for an extra 40 euros a night, i negotiated it to 35, for this you got a room twice the size and a massive balcony with hot tub that fits 6 people!. also the best views in the hotel. All the staff at radisson are amazing. Nothing is a problem at this hotel, there are a couple of things this hotel needs to do to bring it to 5 star level but that has been mentioned in previous posts, i.e little things like mainteneance of carpets and outside etc although the jacuzzi suites have been totally refurbished and are amazing. Yet again trip advisor has proved invaluable for booking our holidays as there are over 600 reviews on this hotel with almost 500 being excellent or very good. This tells its own story and on that note I highly recommend st julians radisson if you want a chill out hotel with no noise except the sea outside and dont mind walking for 10 mins to get to the centre of st julians.

Room Tip: upgrade if you can afford it and get a jacuzzi suite, you wont be disapointed

We stayed here for a week, and found the staff mostly very friendly and helpful. It was low low season, so there was hardly anyone there, indeed the Edge Restaurant by the far pools was not open at all, and the Buffet only operated Wed, Sat & Sun. It was easy to get in straight away to the indoor pool, and to the health and beauty parlour for a back massage and for the fish foot eating treatment.

Our room was spacious and clean, and the public areas large and of the style of ten years or so ago. The one distaff thing I noticed was the very poor state of the carpets in the public areas (ie bars, restaurants and corridors on ground and lower spa floor) - they really need a good clean or replacement - they were filthy. I did note this on a comments card to the hotel.

We had a lot of help from the concierge desk, but no-one told us that we were so close to St Julian's by walking down a back road, as we had only gone on the hotel courtesy bus which takes a longer route - so we felt a bit isolated in this hotel. We only noticed this road when our airport transfer driver took us down there on our departure. It would still be a good walk though, with a steep hill and bumpy road past the construction work going on at present (we were told it was for gardens). But we would have liked to do this for lunch or dinner as both are very expensive in this hotel, although when we did have food out on day trips, Malta doesn't seem the cheapest place to go.

Other reports have remarked about corridor noise - in 242 we were near the goods lift and there was some night-time noise from supplies being moved in and out in the early hours. There were not enough people around for us to check whether general corridor noise was a problem.

We ate in most nights, either buffet or Bistro or one night in the bar where we had a dreadful "Italian Antipasto" for two at nearly £20. It seemed to consist mostly of cheese and olives. A fillet steak @ £25 in the Bistro was not the tenderest I've ever tasted either : the bread is nice, though! There's a good range at the breakfast buffet, but again not the best for this star rating.

My wife was "invited" with me to see the other Radisson at Golden Bay, but instead of a nice day out enjoying the facilities, when we got there turned out to be a Timeshare place with lengthy sales pitch. Supposedly we were going to have lunch and drinks, but as we didn't but a timeshare, all we got was a sandwich and cup of tea, and no expected swim. It was a very smart hotel/timeshare, though, but again out on its own.

Also be aware that the taxis outside the hotel are horrendously expensive. We were charged 15 Euros (£14) for a ride to a friend's flat at Sliema, although he reduced the price to 13 Euros when we jibbed at this (no meters). The return journey with a local firm cost 8 Euros, so nearly double.

Another time, we would stay nearer the centre of St Julians or Sliema.

Room Tip: Away from a goods lift, and far from reception as this hotel will be very busy in summer (the buffet...

We were booked out to this hotel for 2 nights from the Intercontinental and I would say the two hotels are of a pretty even standard.
The main downside of this hotel is it's location. It is up a very steep hill which is hazardous in rain, and also there are some major roadworks / building occurring at the moment which is inconvenient and unsightly (appreciate it had to be done out of season).
On the positives, great breakfast, and reasonably priced evening meals considering it is a 5 star hotel. The weather unfortunately was thunderstorms during out stay so couldn't take advantage of pool areas but they looked nice.
The only reason I wouldn't stay here again is purely the location - if you have trouble walking or have a pushchair, not a hotel for you. Other than that, I would say this us a good 4 star hotel, not 5 star. And make sure if you do stay, have sea view room.

My family of four stayed at the Radisson Blu Resort in January and I thought the hotel was great. It was the quiet season but a lot of the locals see to come and stay in the weekend. The food and service was great along with the coastal view. The breakfast buffet was varied and had local specialities which were surprisingly delicious. The bedrooms were quite large even with the four of us and was well appointed and clean. The balcony view to the sea was the icing on the cake. The swimming pools looked great but it was a tad too cold and windy to go swimming.

I am probably the last person who has the right to comment this hotel since the only reason i could stay there was a special offer .The room was nice but not to the point for a five star .(I have stayed in four star hotels in Europe where the rooms were better ). The bathroom was a big disappointment .Yes it was clean but no mate can do anything for the crack tiles on the floor and the rust around the bath tab or at the edges of the mirror. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was amassing .Great food good verity and very helpful chef.Again i want to say thanks you to all the staff at the front desk ,at the restaurant , the mates and last but not least the girls at the beauty saloon .Would i stay again ?Yes .Would i recommend it to friends ?Yes !I just hope that the hotel manager will do something about the things i have mentioned above .
