Hotel is very much OK. Got a very large room with an even larger terrace. From outside, the hotel urgently needs redecoration.
Staff is friendly, only checkout experience is among the slowest I have seen in a long time. Good breakfast.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Radisson, I went over to Malta to get married at the Palazzo Capua. The Radisson greeted us with champagne and chocolates even though the wedding wasn't with them.

The room was very clean and spacious, towels were changed daily.
Breakfast had plenty of choice my only real complaint would be between 8 and 9 the breakfast room was filled with business men and it was hard to get any food during that time.

The pool areas where also very good as was the pool guy.

I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Overall really enjoyed my stay at the Radisson and would recommend it.

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Radisson Bay Point Hotel. We received first class service from all the staff at the hotel and nothing was ever too much to ask. We stayed in a standard double room on the 7th floor which was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. We ate most evenings in the Bistro which was delicious and reasonable. The pools were clean and sunbeds and parasols were plentiful.

Could not fault the hotel in any way and would highly recommend it for a totally relaxing stay in top class accommodation.

The willingness to help and friendliness of all staff seems unlimited and comes with an honesty seldom experienced (although we have travelled already quite a lot on both pleasure and business occasions).

We stayed at the Bay Point early September 2008 for 10 nights.
Upon our late (but foreseen - flights from Brussels airport leave at 20h local time, taking approx 3 h to arrive), our room didn't appear as really clean. The lady receptionist however assured us we could change rooms the following morning. This occured after breakfast and we changed into a room which now was clean and tidy and had a much nicer view.
It wasn't the nicest experience to arrive on such conditions, but after this little hick up, the staff made sure our holidays could start swiftly.
When you have the possibility to ask upfront, make sure to book a room at the poolside. As the hotel has a U-shape with the pool in the middle, you'll have seaview from every side; it has a much nicer feel to it though, being on the inner side.

We had booked 2 excursions with the local Thomas Cook representative, as we thought it would have been easy for a change to go for something pre-planned for a day or 2. Due to his incompetence unfortunately, we had to rearrange. The concierges really helped us out and no effort seemed too much to make sure we could proceed as planned.

Overall the hotel is worth 4 to 5 stars with all facilities expected, good food (buffet includes local specialties) and a gentle atmosphere. What makes it really special is the staff: the concierges, the people at reception, the waiters at the Kon Tiki restaurant etc.

Highly recommendable, maybe slightly in favour of people without children..

I AM SO SHOCKED THAT ANYBODY COULD WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW ABOUT THIS HOTEL! In fact I have just had to read the reviews again to make sure that we were talking about the same hotel!

My husband, one year old son and I stayed in this hotel mid-August - peak school holiday time and we had a wonderful holiday and this was mainly due to the wonderful Radisson SAS Bay Point Hotel.

We had a really lovely holiday and thought that the hotel was superb. The accomodation and restaurants were excellent but I have to say that what made the hotel so special was the staff. They are so friendly and helpful - even the ones who we had never had any dealings with said hello when passing in the corridors. The staff in the Kon Tiki were superb. Lucy in particular was so helpful and nice to us. She is a real asset to the hotel. She was so knowledgeable about the hotel and also Malta generally. Others in the restaurant who were excellent were Raymond, Noel, Alan and Jesmond although all of the staff were good and I may have missed mention of some of them.

We had some friends who were staying at the Hilton in St Julians and they came over to have dinner with us in the Kon Tiki. They said that the service at the Hilton was very good but rather impersonal whereas they noted that the service at the Radisson was on another level!

Our cleaning lady was Graziella and she was great too. She always made a fuss of our son and he even had a chocolate left in his cot for him some nights! We always got extra chocolates - usually delivered whilst I was getting ready and my husband was in the bar - no wonder I put on weight whist we were there!

Talking of the food, it was excellent. We ate in the Kon Tiki buffet restaurant most nights - we were surprised by this as we like to eat out and thought we would need a number of different restaurants to make it feel like we were going out for the evening rather than just 'down to the hotel restaurant' a la school canteen. This was not a problem at the Kon Tiki. The menu was varied (we stayed for two weeks and ate in there for eleven nights without getting bored). It was a nice touch that you were given a menu when you sat down so that you could plan what to get from the buffet. We sat outside most nights which was very nice as the pool was nicely lit up and it was quiet enough for our son to sleep well in his pushchair.

The staff in Le bistro were also very good as our son had his evening meal in there most days (he eats at five) - most of the staff there knew his name!

We ate at the Edge on our second to last night. We would normally have chosen to go to this restaurant on our ast night - thinking that it would be more special than the buffet restaurant but we had gotten to know the staff in the Kon Tiki so well we decided to go there on our last night. Both my husband and I were pleased we didn't go there on the last night. Whilst the food and the setting where very nice, we felt that it was rather pretentious. We arrived ten minutes after the time we booked as we had had some issues getting our son to sleep. We were courteous enough to apologise but were told that our table had had to be let go (in just ten minutes?) and we were thankfully offered another table which in fact was better anyway!

The only negative thing that I would say would be regarding our room. We were were in room 315. It was a superb room and the floor space of both the room and the balcony were excellent. The view was also great and it was also nice that we could see the entertainment from the balcony when our son was in bed. I am not sure how it compares to the other junior suites and there may have been good reason to put us in this room but it is imediately above the ballroom. Whilst this was not a problem for the majority of our stay, there were functions in there on both the Friday and Saturday nights of our second week. We could hear the music from our room (albeit it was not loud) and although it didn't wake our son up, my husband didn't sleep much because he was worrying it would wake him!

Apart from that minor quibble we had a lovely holiday and would definately recommend the hotel to friends.

The service of the holiday was nicely rounded off on the last full day when we returned to the hotel and found a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates and a cuddly toy dog had been left in our room for us from Marika Abela the guest relations manager. We thought it was very nice and also helped my husband to realise he wasn't missing something - he had taken our son to the Bistro restaurant for his tea as soon as we returned from our day out without going up to the room and when he gave our room number the staff in the restaurant said to our son 'oh you're the little boy with the doggy in your room.' Another example of good service when the restaurant staff knew what was happening with our room.

We found the pool areas to be great. We actually spent most of our pool time at the main pool but never found it to be overcrowded although sometimes most of the beds were taken in the sunny areas! It was very clean and was hosed down each night and the sunbeds straightened. We had no grumbles at all. We once used some sunbeds towards the end of the day which other guests has used beforehand and they had left some rubbish an empty drinks jug there and they were removed by the staff without us needing to ask.

We found the staff to be very friendly to the English guests (the Maltese people generally like the English - we have a friendly history with each other). We certainly did not feel that we were treated any differently to the Maltese or Italian guests - apart from being treated slightly better we felt!

We spent quite a lot of time in the indoor pool as we wanted to keep our son out of the midday sun and often had the pool to ourselves even though it was peak season (guess people like the sun)!

We didn't need to utilise the concierge too much but when we did they were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. They even came to find us when we were in the Bistro having a sneaky last meal when our transfer transport for home arrived!

Re: check out. We asked a few days before departure whether we would be able to keep our room for longer. We were told that they would do their best but we would need to check the day before whether it had been possible. They said if it was possible we could have until 3pm free of charge and anything after that would incur a charge. We checked the day before to be told that it would be absolutely no problem at all.

RE: the mini bar - drinks were quite expensive but no more I don't think than any other hotel. We asked about having it cleared so we could use it as a fridge and were told that that would be possible but that it would incur a cost of 17 euros per week. It was explained that this was because it was an outside company that runs the mini bars and so I guess it is fair enough - they can't make any money if you have an empty bar!

There was an air-conditioned mini bus running from the hotel to St Julian's (free), Silema (five euros per couple) and Valetta (ten euros per couple). More expensive than the public bus which stopped just up the road from the hotel but much less crowded and air conditioned so well worth the extra pennies if you have pushchair, baby and the associated lugguage that comes with a baby!

A long review which only shows how impressed we were really - with a one year old and also working time is precious!

If you choose this hotel then I hope you have as wonderful a time as we did.

Booked 7 day break in Radisson from Thurs 04 Sept until Thurs 11th. We, 4 adults, arrived late from Dublin, on 04th and check in was very quick and we had a meal in the Bistro. Very nice and there were not many people in restaurant at that that time. Its open for 24 hours. Went to bed. We had rooms 355 & 325. Room 355 was on third floor, one above Bar and Reception, facing inwards towards Bar and Pool. 325 was on outside of building looking into site next to hotel. The Hotel were catering for weddings up to 2 a day. From our balcony you could see into Ballroom and when they had a wedding, which usually went on until 0200 in morning, they would open the doors of room and you could hear loud music and no chance to sleep. The people that stayed sitting outside Bar on terrace were just under our balcony. So really not much sleep as the sound was magnified due to the way hotel was built. The other room 325 facing outwards heard nothing at all. Glad I read a report on hotel about music so brought ear plugs.

Hotel staff were excellent, that includes Reception, House Keepers and of course Michael in the Bar. They could not do enough for you. The food was average, not what I would expect from 5 Star hotel. When Bistro was full the food was barely edible, everything covered in sauce, hiding what? The Chefs looked worn out from working. They would not even say good morning or smile. We gave up in the end and dined downtown. Met a good Taximan who gave me his card and when we wanted to go back to hotel, we phoned and he was usually 5 mins away. One other thing was no extensions after check out at noon on day of departure. Offered to pay going rate but they said no. Hotel was full. Did not even get a courtesy room, shower in Gym and change in Baggage room, not what you would expect from 5 star hotel.

Bus stop short walk from front door, No. 66 and cost of fare to Valletta was 47 cents. Old buses. Thats the fare where ever you go. The trip into Valletta takes 30 mins and a bus every 30 mins. on the hour and half hour. Taxi from Dubliner Bar to Hotel approx €12/ €15. Had excellent meals in Baracudda, The Villa at Le Meridian and Lulu in Church Street. Very reasonable and nice surroundings. Drink expensive but you can get a pint for €1 in places and €5 in hotel. All drink much the same as here in Ireland. The weather was hot and humidity was high while we were there. Did the trip on Sea Plane from Valletta for 40 mins around all the islands and that was well worth €90 Would I go back to Radisson again,? No never again.

Have just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel, and to be honest we were disappointed.
. There are 3 pools at the hotel, but all quite small, the 2 lido pools are very busy, as this is were the pool slide is and naturally was frequented by lots of children. The lido pool areas were not terribly clean and there was often rubbish, and empty cans left there overnight.
The service was hit and miss, with Maltese and Italian guests being favoured, this was particularly so at the poolsde. On 2 separate occassions my husband and I, along with other non- meditarranean guests were completely ignored by the pool bar servers
At other times service was extremely slow, this was the case in all areas of the hotel. On 2 occassions we had to queue to get into the dining room for breakfast, admittedly it was a holiday weekend and the hotel was full, but not what you would expect from a 5 * hotel.
The rooms were clean, but not exceptional, little more than basic really. There is no fridge in the room, and it was impossible to move things in the mini bar to accomodate water etc. as, as soon as you moved anything in the mini bar it was added to your account! Cleanliness in the toilets in the public areas was also not brilliant, the toilet brushes were disgusting!
To buy a drink at the hotel you needed to take out a mortgage. 4 euros for a litre of water and 5 euros for a pint of beer, which was usually warm. We usually went to the Corinthia hotel next door, for drinks as they were significantly cheaper their and the hotel was much nicer.
On a positive note, the food was exceptional, always well cooked, well presented, reasonably priced and plenty of it.
On the whole a disappointing visit, we've stayed in a 3* hotel that was much better. We definitely won't be making a return visit.
