“Al-Molo - disapointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

This was disappointing, we found out after our disappointing visit that the restaurant was under different management to our previous visits. The service was poor and the food only average.

“Avoid it!!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013

There are plenty of restaurants around. This one to avoid! Really a bad experience ...
Although food non'è bad, the service still is very important ... and in this restaurant and the service poor.
You should be careful! Not all customers are foreign tourists!

“A very disappointing experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

Let me say at the fore that this review is about the Dragonara Casino Brasserie which up to recent was known as Don Serafino 1953.
We were greeted by a very polite Maltese girl by the name of Karen, who spoke excellent English giving away the fact that she just returned to her motherland after spending many years in London. She explained the menu and also recommended certain dishes. We opted to take her advice and ordered Zuppa di Cozze (made by fresh mussels) as a starter and then fish of the day (sea bass) and sword fish as mains.
The mussels turned out to be extremely dry being pre-overcooked, too salty and served cold!! whilst the mains were also overcooked and dry. This was unfortunate as we were told that everything was fresh. This together with a shared desert and excluding wine and water came to EUR70 which I consider to be quite on the high side just for the food especially since normally a Casino restaurant tends to be subsidized. Incidentally, I presented a 15% discount voucher at the outset and the girl said that there was no problem with it then when I asked for the bill I was told that the discount card was no longer valid as the restaurant changed hands. I explained that there was no issue but I should have been told this at the outset and not at the end. After the matter was referred to the manager whom I never saw, our bill was discounted by the princely sum of EUR10. I told Karen that the food was definitely what we expected and she later told me that she informed the chef. Good for them but no apologies, nothing. Probably they won't see us again!

“Good food but lacking in atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2013

I suppose a restaurant within a casino is always bound to have an odd atmosphere, and this place is no exception. Half empty on a Thursday night, most of the other diners were, unsurprisingly, gamblers eating alone. Being winter we ate inside but the outdoor eating area looked very nice with very good views. The food was good - a fish platter as a starter had a nice variety of very fresh smoked fish and raw fish. The ribeye steak was excellent, and cooked perfectly. So far so good, and then a tiny bowl of potatoes and a few bits of roast vegetable were served, nor nearly enough for our table of 4. We had to ask for two additional servings of potatoes and vegetables. The tiramisu was served in a glass and was very nice. Service was good and polite throughout. In summary, if you're in the casino for the long haul a good place to feed yourself but, unless you like the atmosphere of a casino, probably best to avoid.

“Very disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2013 via mobile

I agree with some of the other reviews that, although it should have been good, it was lacking in atmosphere and the service was strange, with lots of dishes not available and the bread arriving with the main course, for example. The wine was not chilled enough to begin with. The food itself was nicely cooked and presented. But it was expensive for what it was.
