My friends and I stayed here for a cheap week away before all the christmas stress and we loved it! Our flight was delayed and ended up arriving late at night, but the girl on reception was lovely and quickly checked us in to our rooms, which were all together just like we asked. We quickly went down for dinner as the restaurant was closing and had a lovely meal including salads, pasta and the pizza was to die for. I dont know why people complain about the food, if you expect 5 star standards then book a 5 star hotel!!!!

The next day we went to explore the area and there is a lovely little beach 5 minutes walk from the hotel and the bars, shops and restaurants are 2 minutes walk away. We booked excursions to Comino and Gozo which were absolutely spectacular, gorgeous beaches, postcard perfect!

The hotel is right in the middle of the nightlife which was perfect for us. I would recomend the bar Plush Lounge round the corner from the hotel, lovely sofas with shisha pipes with all different sorts of flavours and lush coctails. We had a room with a pool view and didnt hear any noise from the clubs at night. During our stay there were a few groups of lads around the complex, but it was no way as bad as people make out on trip advisor! The entertainment team kept them amused and even us girls joined in with a few actvities during the day, yes I was a winner of killer darts lol. The whole entertainment team are really friendly and we had a good laugh with them.

If your looking for a cheap getaway with friends this is the perfect place for you and all the staff are really friendly and helpful, if you need a transfer then ask at reception, George picked us up and took as to the airport, great guy and he will fill you in with all you need to know about Malta!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room at St George, quiet with great views!

We went here in December for 4 days. Having read the reviews we was a little worried. When we got there we was pleasantly surprised, rooms were clean ,spacious and ours had lovely view. Our room was cleaned with fresh towels everyday. Food was good. wide range of choice every variety of meat going. Not much choice of desserts is only negative. ( not 5 star , but we didn't pay 5 star prices ). We went all inclusive and the choice of drinks was really good. The bar staff was really pleasant and friendly and the comedy act we saw was hilarious. Location is superb, in middle of shops , bars , resteraunts. Enjoyed it so much just booked again to go back at the end of January. You get well worth what you pay for it .

This hotel was horrific! A family of 12 were subjected to ten nights of no sleep due to the nightclubs etc.The staff were mostly unfriendly and unhelpful and things got so bad we had to contact Malta tourism board.Food was the same everyday and housekeeping was a joke. Please please do not go here >Everyone in the hotel felt the same about the poor standard of hospitality. It should be closed down !!!

Dear Guest

It is with great regret that your stay with us did not meet your expectations.

Our resort is situated in Paceville St Julians which as stated in agents websites , come alive at night.

Our department teams work 24 hours a day to provide the best services possible and and the management team pride themselves on the way they deal with guests issues onsite which it seems you did not take advantage of. Had you brought your concerns to our attention then we could have addressed them during your holiday.

We finally thank you for your views to help us continually improve our resorts

Kind Regards

Just got back from 1 weeks holiday at St Georges Park and what a nightmare, Shower didn't work, toilet didn't flush ( had to fill the systern manually) bedding dirty so we went out and bought our own duvet and pillows. Only had 1 meal which was terrible and 3 breakfasts which was passable. We checked out 4 days early and paid to stay at a neighbouring hotel and no one at the hotel questioned why. The reception was permanently filled with our guests also complaining. We know it was cheap so expected to use the hotel as just a base for somewhere to sleep and shower but without a functioning shower, toilet and dirty bedding this was impossible. We had read the reviews but thought people were exaggerating but they definately were not. The hotel is a shambles and is certainly not 3 star. Never again.

I wish to register my dis-satisfaction with the above holiday booked through your company. I booked to go to La Valette resort hotel in St Julian’s, Malta not Blue Sea St George’s Park. Pictures on your website showed La Valette. First of all we were dropped off down the road at La Valette – told this was closed and re-directed to Blue Sea St George’s Park – carrying our cases uphill.

On arrival at the Blue Sea St George we were informed that our hotel (La Valette) had ‘technical difficulties’ and we were relocated to Blue Sea St George and charged a deposit of 50 euros – not a problem paying a deposit just the fact that not everybody was asked to do so.

My friend entered his room and immediately the electricity ‘banged’ – the neighbour informed him that the trip switch was in her room and if both tried to use electricity at the same time – it tripped out! This was rectified after a few visits to Reception.

My room was awful – cold, foisty – not been aired – obviously not ready for use. The blankets I needed to keep warm were musty – again had not been washed/aired for a while. After several requests at Reception to put on the heating – I was ‘surprised’ to see the air conditioning had been put on so the room was even colder. Again I asked Reception to rectify this (five times in total) and was informed that the ‘handyman’ was at the other hotel (la Valette) as it was being opened again. I stated that I had reported this previously and it was already in his ‘book’. No offer to move rooms was made. The St George seemed to get ignored in favour of La Valette even though most guests had been relocated there.

There was also the issue of hot water – this disappeared and I was informed that I must have turned it off!! Why would I do such a thing. My room was not cleaned for three days – again a visit to Reception. I would like to state that at any one time there were approximately 5-6 people at Reception with complaints.

The food was pretty grim – not so much its content, although the same every day – it was just cold. I did speak to the headwaiter who said the hot plates were warm. I told him the food was fine just cold and it was brought out cold. He told me to use the microwave to heat it up!! They then told us we could not longer eat at the St George and had to go to La Valette – what a farce - (food was still cold)! The snacks were ridiculous – stale sandwiches, plain biscuits and insufficient for the number of guests.

The hotel did have lots of staff – but the customer service was appalling – they were very laid back – to the point of being impertinent – ‘do I look like a plumber?’ was the reply I got from the cleaner regarding the hot water. I asked for a table to be cleared at lunch time and the waitress pushed the dirty plates to one side of the table – she was not best pleased when I said that was not good enough!

Entertainment – if you like to sing ‘King Caractacus’ constantly you are fine but this went on too long and then bingo so no time for people who like to dance! The video game room did have machines – four of which were broken. The Snooker Table was a piece of uneven wood with very ragged felt and Snooker cues that had no tip and were splintering badly!

When La Valette re-opened everything stopped at St George’s Park – the ‘entertainment’ was moved to La Valette – a totally unsuitable room for so many guests. Insufficient seating in a long thin room with stage at the front – no-one sitting at the back could see or hear anything – really bad design.

I have been to Malta and other places before and have not experienced anything like this – maybe the new owners need to get some training for the staff and not make promises that they do not keep - ‘it will be done by the time you get back’ etc. I do appreciate the difficulties of hotel staff and, as a front line staff member myself, I understand that not all problems can be solved immediately but some polite, customer orientated words would have helped.

Room Tip: Another hotel !!

My friends and I stayed here Summer 2013 for a cheap holiday and I'm extemely glad we didn't book it for longer than our four day stay. Lifts were not working at all times. Breakfast looked inedible and the dining room was unbearably hot. Very loud teenage 'lads' were making constant noise around the hotel at night. And I thought Ibiza was loud...kids in this hotel were obnoxious and careless. Staff very unfriendly. We were at the pool when a child drowned on our first day there, he was okay but was unconscious for some time due to no lifeguard present. Do not recommend for families AT ALL.
