Firstly I would like to say that I use Tripadvisor all the time, but have never left a review. This hotel impressed me so much that I felt it only fair to share our experience. Myself and my partner visited Malta for the first time 22/10-26/10. All I can say is from the beginning of our holiday right up until the end, our time in the Marina was wonderful. The staff are Amazing throughout the whole complex. I was particularly impressed with the staff at reception-they are very friendly and professional. Emeline was the one person who stood out and greeted me by first name and a smile every time I passed. She really is a credit to the hotel. She knew we were meeting with wedding planners whilst there and always asked how we were getting on. Karen also deserves a mention-I think her badge said trainee-but she is very good at what she does and we also found her very knowledgeable about the hotel and a pleasure to deal with. As for our stay-we had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the bay. The bed was huge and so comfortable. We had a fruit platter and dressing gowns and slippers waiting for us on arrival. There was a large flat screen tv with many channels-although we never used it. There is free Wifi in the bedrooms and throughout the hotel. We had breakfast every morning in the hotel and it was delicious-they had everything you could wish for be it hot/cold. They also cook your eggs to order and make great omelettes. We had room service one night and it was excellent-the pasta with the mussels is a must. It is worth mentioning that the prices for room service were very reasonable for the quality of food you were getting. We tried several different eating/drinking venues throughout the Marina and it's sister hotel the Corinthia and found all to be good value for money with brilliant service. You can also use all the facilities of their 5 star sister hotel which is right next door. The pools there are great and so relaxing. Everything you need is nearby-beach,shopping,bars etc. As this is my first ever review, I tried to include everything I would like to know before booking a hotel. All I can say is that we both loved our stay in the Marina. We were so impressed that we booked the Corinthia next door for our wedding!!! We will be back again shortly to organize our wedding and really look forward to staying in the Marina again. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Thank you to all the staff for making our first trip to Malta so special. See you all again soon!

We go to malta every year as a little vigil to my Dad. We stayed at the Marina Corinthia early October (my Mum and I) and found the hotel excellent. The staff were particularly helpful and I commend them on their customer service as they went out of their way on all occasions. From extra milk to opening a bottle of wine for us to drink on the balcony. For helpful tips and directions, bus timetables. Nothing was too much trouble. This hotel is probably one of the best I have stayed in abroad. The rooms were spacious and clean and the view over the bay was delightful in the day and at night. The onsite restaurants are all nice to eat in and reasonably priced too. We stayed bed and breakfast and the food was of good quality and lots of choice. The chefs even made you omelette fresh on request. I struggle to find anything to complain about and that has to be a first in this modern day. It's so good we've booked to go back next year already :) Feel confident in booking, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms facing on to the bay are lovely

Stayed there for one week in October, I recommend this hotel during low season where you can really enjoy the pools and the sea almost all by yourself for a good rate; however, I think it must be really crowded at the pools during summer.
It's a very big hotel in a good location - close to restaurants, nightlife etc; rooms are a good size, clean but slightly old, the furniture is quite worn. For those who want to travel around Malta, there are several bus stops close to the hotel, you can get almost anywhere on the island which is very convenient. There are several restaurants in the hotel, but they are overpriced compared to those in the city.
The first night we couldn't sleep due to a strange noise in our room, coming from some AC or cooling from the roof (we were on the top floor) - we complained and got moved to another, quiet room without problems. Staff was extremely friendly, especially the trainee girl at the front desk (Karen was her name, I think) and the housekeeping staff, I recommend this hotel especially because of the friendly staff!
Oh and the free Wifi works very well!

Room Tip: I think rooms which are not on the top floor are more quiet, because the noise seemed to come from t...

We stayed 4 days at the Marina hotel in September. This is a great hotel. We had a room with 2 queen beds on the 4th floor. Lovely beds, great bay view from the balcony and plenty of sun beds and pools. Crystal clear water and lovely to swim in the bay. The adajacent hotel (Corinthia) has a small, but functional, fitness room. The breakfast is good, and it is lovely to sit outside on the terrace in the morning. The hotel has several restaurants, and a nice cafe. Restaurants and bars nearby in Paceville, but we preferred to walk to Spinola Bay (15 minutes).

The location of the hotel is perfect for ones who prefers the trips as I've done:
-the only (I guess so) beach in St. Julians is in 200 meters
-most of nightlife places in St. Julians, Sliema etc are in 500 meters
-the room is absolutely quiet for a deep sleep
-the hotel is on the edge of the town, so that it is convinient to use a car or a bike to drive across Malta, avoiding this complex traffic within St. Julians, Sliema etc.

The staff is very polite and observant.
The only claims I can suggest are: unusable wi-fi unless you switch on paid bundle and not ideal room state.

We stayed as part of a sightseeing package (Riviera), so cannot comment on the value of our half-board stay. Our room was excellent, although the bay-facing balcony seemed to trap rather than relieve the heat (we don't like too much sun or heat). The lobby areas are sumptuous and cool. There is plenty of scope for al-fresco dining, but serious shade is not available, so we had breakfast indoors. The half-board option means buffet meals (there are other a-la-carte restaurants in the hotel, where half-boarders can eat for a supplement, but these looked a bit pricey to us). Buffet breakfast and supper were typical of an international hotel; nothing to offend the palate, and the good-looking food sometimes didn't taste as good as it looked. There are 2 free-to-use computers in the lobby, intended for 15 minute bursts only. The free WIFI in the rooms is truly rubbish (good enough for emails, appalling for browsing), but apparently you can pay for a better connection. Nice swimming pool, and bath robes and swim towels are at no extra charge. The service we received was consistently good and very friendly.

Room Tip: The bay side gets the sun, the other side gets the traffic.

We have just stayed at the Marina Hotel for 10 nights and what a very, very good hotel this is. We can't praise it enough and can't find anything negative to say. From check-in to check-out it was first class. The food is plentiful, varied and good quality, something for everybody, hot or cold. Breakfasts were the same, especially on the terrace in the early morning sun with views across St Georges Bay and out across the Med. We had a Superior Room which gave us plenty of space and had a really nice sized balcony with the views over the bay from the fifth floor. All the hotel staff are really friendly, polite and very helpful when required, nothing seemed to much trouble. We used the public buses a fair amount and found the bus stops were easily accessible within a short walk. Very crowded though, especially the nearer you get to Valletta (from absolutely mad). Cheap, a day ticket only 2 euros 60 each. The location of this hotel for us was spot on, just away from the really busy parts but also with easy access to St Julians and Sliema. All good, highly recommend. Can't imagine what the adjacent parent hotel, the 5 star Corinthia St George is like!

Room Tip: Superior room with sea view a must (4th or 5th floor)
