Excellent staff and service. The room was good and there are agood range of facilities. The place is slightly past its best and coild do with a freshen up in a few areas but overall it was very good. Location is good, close to bars, restaurants, shops and a beach but also far enough away from all that so that we weren't disturbed. Linked to the Corinthia which adjoins the site and that means you can use their facilities too. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would stay thre again if in Maltla.

A week away from sodden England in January proved a real treat! Marina Hotel has stunning views across a small bay and is in a good location to explore lovely Malta The culture and history of the islands is fascinating and was easily explored by bus from outside the hotel We were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the food was excellent As the hotel was quiet the buffet was not open in the evening but we had a lovely four course meal in the bistro each evening( we were on half board) We also used the pool at the spa in the Corinthia hotel which is open to guests from the Marina.

Room Tip: We faced Paceville which has a reputation for noisy nightclubs in high season but had no noise at al...

Just back from 4 days trip with friends for a short break and hotel was really good, staff lovely and helpful and upgraded us to a bigger room with 2 king size beds in it for two people !! brilliant. Would recommend this hotel as it is far enough away from the noise but 15 minutes walk to paceville and No12 bus that takes you to sliemma. Good shops and take aways round about. however we went to a resturaunt called Meat and co and i would say give it a wide berth we got a mixed grill for two and 2 drinks total cost was 52 Euros and consisted of some meat on a plate sausage, chop, steak and chicken only the sausage and chicken was edible as the others were all very chewy and tough complained but all they could say was we should have said at the start would not go there again or recommend it however loads of other better restaurants around to take you pick from and they were reasonable prices and great food. Would go back again to this hotel nothing was too much trouble for them they even remembered us from an email we sent them prior to arriving. thanks for a good relaxing break.

We spent 4 days at Marina during New Year`s time. Weather was not welcoming, locals said almost coldest days during the year. We recommend to use this hotel during much warmer time to use all the facilities, including outside swimming pool and beach. We spent time travelling around the island, didn`t use spa. Location is good, public transport close to the hotel, Pacevilla - place with lot of bars and restaurants really close, 5 min walk. Staff is friendly and welcoming. We had room with sea view on the first floor. We felt comfortable.

Booked this hotel for our New Year break with friends. First time on Malta. We had two double rooms on the third floor - ground floor from the road/reception level. Both rooms were very quiet and comfortable. The beds were truly amongst the best we've had in a hotel anywhere and we all slept very well. As they were made up of two 3 foot beds together, it was a 6ft double! Lovely and warm and comfortable. The bedding was clean. We had a few niggly issues with the room, but nothing which was worth actually complaining about and certainly would not put us off using the hotel in the future, if we return to Malta. The towels were rather thin. It's a pity they weren't as thick and fluffy as the bath-robes supplied. We had to leave them for changing daily as they were so thin they were soaked through after showering. There were some chips in our bath and some hairline cracks in the basin. Also, the toilet seat was wearing out and the white coating had been cleaned so much it was wearing off. The room was mainly clean, although the drinking glasses weren't always changed when they had been used and the marks left on the side by our morning coffee mugs were not cleaned. I am not personally a fan of shower curtains, but that's just an observation. Our friends' room had similar 'worn out' tendencies, with the addition that the cupboard their fridge was in had no air vents, so it was rotten in several places. As I say, not enough to put us off returning in the future, just maybe this set of rooms may be next in line for updating? The hotel is in a very convenient location - probably even better in the summer. We paid for breakfast included in our visit and we were very pleased with this. A great choice and you could go up to the buffet as often as you liked. Our friends particularly liked having omelettes made to order with their choice of fillings. Some days we had full cooked breakfasts and some just toast and fruit - but it was all very good. All the staff we spoke to were very polite and helpful - definitely going the extra mile to be of service. They all seem to have a positive view that the customer is always right - a great credit to them all these days. Our friends used the indoor pool in the neighbouring Corinthian and said it was very good. Other than this, we spent most of our time out and about and didn't use any of the other facilities.

Room Tip: We were happy with 3rd floor.

We spent a very relaxing week at the Marina Hotel, helped by the friendly and approachable staff. From a warm welcome when arriving at the Reception to the personal requests promptly responded to by the excellent chefs and pleasant maids, we felt at ease in the hotel, even though guests were in short supply in early January. A shame really, as this is an oasis of calm and class in an enviable location - close to the facilities of St Julians, but far enough away to avoid the liveliness of Paceville's nightlife.
With the stop for the local bus service to Sliema and Valletta a short walk away, the one euro fifty cents fare for a whole day's travel is a really cost-effective way of seeing Malta.
If you tire of eating at the hotel, there are a number of options available in nearby Bay Street.
Our out of season experience was excellent value for money - thanks Travel Republic!

Room Tip: The sea view across St. George's Bay is worth the extra cost.
