We stayed here on the 15th July 2014 in a superior family seaview room. Our stay was perfect in almost every way.Our room, view & service we received. The staff were always happy, polite & helpful. The only thing I would say ... Is the breakfast after a couple of days got boring,(always the same), & the staff were slow on clearing tables. Most days,(as it started to be busy,we had to clear a table if we wanted to sit outside!).Apart from that,we loved every minute & our two girls,(age 17 & 19 years old) want to come back next year! Perfect location, local buses excellent 1.50€ per person,to go anywhere on the island. Malta & Gozo are soooo beautiful.

Mrs T Borg

Room Tip: Pick a seaview

We stayed in the hotel for a week and have some pleasant things to write about it and some not so good - although nothing terrible.
When we arrived in the early hours the reception staff were welcoming and dealt with matters efficiently. Our room on floor 5 was okay but a little tired around the edges with a blackened toilet seat and scuff marks on the bathroom walls and the scrapes and scratches one would expect in high traffic areas of the bedroom.
The first irksome thing about the room was the noise coming from the clubs and bars our room faced in Paceville. We had not been told about this and so it came as an unpleasant surprise to find that we had arrived in the so-called 100 days of madness when students from all around Europe descend on the area to learn English, If you want quiet then this high season is not for you!
The hotel itself, like many around the island is not attractive a concrete building with some attempt to pretty itself with landscaping but nothing at all special.
There was no air-con in the landings and some areas were oppressively hot.

The Bay View (which it was) was okay for breakfast with a good enough number of things on offer for the guests. The most positive thing were the staff who were unfailingly polite and helpful - they could not be faulted. We had half-board and this was not value. Over the week the meals became repetitive - swordfish and pork steaks or white fish and chicken thighs for the main. The starters offered were limited a bit of salad, a soup and a pasta or couscous dish. On the plus side the puddings offered ( 2 or 3 cakes) were excellent. Equally the drinks were good value in the hotel and much cheaper than similar 4 star hotels around the Med.

The pool areas were okay with plenty of space either at the Marina or the St George next door. Towels were offered and you had good access to pool side cafes and bar.

I was surprised to have to pay for a safe key this is a first time it has happened and felt a but churlish on the hotel's part.

My top tip is to use e-cabs as they are cheaper and very efficient. We used them to get to several places on the island we wanted to visit. Tours are okay but check carefully as we had an issue with our rep who sold us a tour that was not happening as we had expected due to the festa - he should have known this but that said we did get a refund after our complaint.

This was my second visit to Malta after a gap of 8 years and the island has changed in some respects. It is very crowded, there is lots of building work around but the charm of some parts is unchanged. I would not return but I would suggest that everyone should visit to see the island before it becomes overrun - it is so small and has a really burgeoning population. Would I stay at the same hotel - no. I think there are better places around the island and the location was not as peaceful as I would have hoped. That being said the other 5 star hotels such as the Intercontinental, the Hilton and The Westin are all in the same noisy area so look carefully at location. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures they are all in noisy Paceville!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the bars of Paceville if you want a good night's sleep1

Stayed here just after Easter 2014 so it was still early in the season - hence not a lot of people sitting around the swimming pool. I got in for a dip one day and it was lovely!

Room was nice with a comfy bed. Bathroom was nicely decorated and comfortable.

Balcony was a good size. There was quite a bit of noise at the weekend but with the balcony doors closed and the TV on, it was a low background noise. And it didn't last too long in the evening.

Not a lot of English language channels - some were on the channels but not tuned in/receiving a signal. Not a big problem as was trying to take a break from TV. Ordered a film one night - was €15 which is very expensive for a hotel movie! So was just one treat on my last night.

Ordered room service a couple of times and it came promptly and was very tasty. Mini bar was good.

Lots of dining options in this hotel and next door. Staff at reception were very welcoming but only really spoke to them on check-in and check-out.

Used the gym next door one day - small but had all the machines you'd need. Had a massage and manicure at the spa - service was great.

Not an awful lot to do in St Julians Bay so went on the bus quite a bit to other places. But as a place to chill out, it's quite nice and the hotel itself is a step away from all the noise further around the coast

Most recommended. Kids loved the breakfast and the pool area, and the beach in St Georges Bay is a big bonus. Nice and clean rooms with sea view balconies, great service. Have already booked our next stay.

This is not in anyway shape or form the place you want to stay if your looking for great and attentive service. From the second I checked in the impression was negatively altered our room spelled of mold or some chemical like smell. the toilet didnt flush and the mini fridge was not working. I brought it up to the manger on duty's attention and he thought the best thing was for us to spend the night in this room and fix the problem in the morning. I was blown away by that and knew this place was not going to be a good place not just that I had to beg for a new room (after paying in full) the wifi in the hotel is pretty much a big sham i had no wifi for 5 days and they never addressed it each staff member seemed confused and a bit lost we had one very nice staff member help us by waving the safe key rental as that is a ridiculous concept these days and after all the terrible experiences. the one positive is that the hotel is close to a bus station and close enough to a downtown area.
