“Great Service”

We stayed in the intercontinental's family suite for our 3 day stay in Malta and the rooms were well appointed and perfect for our short stay. Honestly cannot fault any part of our experience from beginning to end. The staff were accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable with 2 young children. We had an unfortunate incident after we checked out of the hotel where we accidentally left my child's passport on a bus! This was a stressful few hours where our saviour happened to be Malcolm Vella (concierge at the Intercontinental) who not only remembered us but proceeded to place various calls on our behalf and ultimately recovered the passport for us.

I was a guest with this Hotel in August 2014 for one week. It's absolutely a fabulous venue! I was checked in a room on 9th floor with direct view to the garden in 7th floor. The pool is located on the 10th floor with direct view over the beach in St. Julian. By the way the Hotel offers a private beach 50m away from the entrance and sunbeds are included and we had no issue finding a good spot. On the evenings the beach turns into a fancy dinner restaurant on sand that was very enjoyable. The Spa on the 5th floor in nothing spectacular, and offers two or three types of sauna that we enjoyed as well. Stuff is very friendly and treat guest with proper respect. My standards are definitely high and there is nothing that I think of that could made my stay better. A warm recommendation on my side!

I had stayed in Malta before and was happy with the accomodation then although, I wanted to go for another experience. I booked this hotel based on the reviews and I must say I didnt regret it. It was just a short 4-night stay but me and my mom really liked it and there is nothing to fault.

The staff at the reception was very nice at the chek-in and at any other time I turned to them and always very helpful. The hotel is of a high standard with a great number of hotel amenities. The entrance hall seemed to be always busy, full of people.
It is noticable that all premises get very well maintened there, all spotlessly cleaned. The hotel is located in a busy club and bar area but this didnt affect us at all. Right outside the hotel is a shopping center with various well known brands which worked perfectly well for us on a rainy day. About 2min walking distance is a small beach and a sightseeing tour bus stop.

The standard room we stayed in was spacious. It was on the 12th floor and rather quiet, overlooking the garden. Room service was great. There was a plenty of international TV channels to choose from, free in-room wifi and a number of free electric sockets available. We dined outside so I can not comment on food in the hotel restaurants.

Overall, I was happy with the all-in-all service and very much enjoyed the stay. I would return and definitely recommend this place.

I stayed here in July for 3 nights as a break from work. It is a nice hotel with a good location - near all the bars, restaurants and clubs. Great gym and pool areas. The 'beach' is small and crowded. The business suite was good and the food well stocked.

It was our first time in Malta, when we stayed in this hotel last week. The Intercontinental Malta is situated right in the center of the main nightlife area of the island, which concerned us a little bit when we arrived at the hotel. Previous reviews state however, that the noise coming from the nightlife can hardly be heard in the rooms, which I can confirm. On the other hand, the noise inside the hotel itself is a little less isolated and other rooms may be a little noisy. Our room was situated at the 13th floor, as i had requested and the view, from a balcony large enough, over the garden and pool area was fantastic! The interior design of the room seemed a bit outdated unfortunately, because of the huge glistening blue headboards of the beds (this is a very personal opinion). The bathroom was very nice and large, with a separate bath and shower cabin and a lot of amenities. The water temperature was fluctuating a lot however, especially before dinner time. Another thing we didn't like, were the multiple room service items left in the corridors for almost two days, even though a lot of staff was walking around all the time.

The hotel itself was quite busy, which we noticed around almost all the public areas. The lobby, elevators, breakfast area, pool area and private beach were crowded every time we came across, and we had to wait in quite some lines. This was not what we had expected from a five-star hotel.

The staff at the hotel were very polite (except at the private beach) and everyone tried to help us as best as they could, even when some areas were clearly understaffed (especially the breakfast at Al Fresco). Despite their efforts, most of them seemed a bit inexperienced however. The one person that absolutely contributed to a five-star experience was the concierge Robert Aquilina. This man is an example for everyone working at this hotel. The service and recognition he provided was excellent by arranging the nicest excursions and the best tables at wonderful restaurants (I highly recommend The Chophouse in Sliema). Everytime we came across him in the lobby he made sure we had an excellent time in Malta. Well done.

Another thing I really appreciated was the recognition I received, being an IHG rewards club member. I was offered free wifi internet and a welcome drink for my family, as well as an invitation to a cocktail reception, where we met the new General Manager Martin van Kan, who was in just 3 days. We are sure this man will resolve all issues we experienced at the Intercontinental Malta. For now Alessia from guest relations took care of our complaints in an appropriate way for which I would like to thank her.

Overall the hotel wasn't worth the 200 euros per night as they don't deserve the fifth star in my opinion.

We stayed at this hotel for 11 days, and honestly said, it's the best vacation we ever had from the beginning we got a great room in 8 floor, with sight of the garden...good airconditioned and soundproof! The housekeeping was good, with no complains..we got all shampoo, soaps and other things who didn't seem important at the forst sight..good service, good drinks!! The restaurants was in it's own league, paranga expecically! (And roomservice to) for an animallover---> they have fishes, turtles and even their own little duck on the beach they also have a fitnesscenter that compares to Elixia in Norway..much more positive to say about this hotel, all worth it, can't wait until the next time were back!

Visited this hotel with my family for one week and absolutely loved the place. The service could not been better throughout the hotel and Bradley and his management team deserve credit for the fantastic and friendly culture they have created with the staff. Nightlife is on the door step and the hotel also has a number of nice restaurants with great food.
