“Great Hotel - great value”
Reviewed 17 July 2010

I would agree with all these reviews. We weren't sure what to expect. Booked through Interval and got a suite for £333.00 for the week. When we arrived the hotel was great. The suite was huge !! Could easily sleep 6 !! Our balcony looked over the tropical waterfall feature ! Wonderful Didn't hear any noise despite having 2 18 year old girls in next bedroom.

Hotel is in a great location. It is a bit young for me but if your out to party it is great. Malta was a fabulous place - everyone is so friendly - very safe indeed.

The hotel seemed to cater for all ages. Lots of children in the pool when I was there for the week so if you don't like that sort of thing the pool here is not for you.

We thought the hotel food and drinks were expensive so ate and drank out avery night where there is plenty of choice for all budgets on your door step.

Great hotel and great value.

Just returned from a short break in Malta and wanted to thank everyone at the intercontinental hotel for the great service.
Make sure to contact James the Concierge, he is amazing and his tips were spot on. He planed our 3 day visit from the moment we arrived till the last hour of our vacation. We managed to visit everything but the way he presented was amazing. He made sure we missed nothing.
The Hotel has a restaurant on the Beach "Paranga", its fantastic, great food & great views. Ask the hotel's Front office or concierge and they will make sure to book a nice table for you.
Altough we did not spend to much time in the Hotel, the room was fantastic, would have loved a better view but this was only if we had to pay extra, the pool looked great and the breakfast room is huge and lots to eat for breakfast.
We would certainly go back to the intercontinental hotel and again would like to thank everyone for the great service. Thank you

we have recently returned from this hotel, very difficult to describe location, we were opposite a high class shopping mall, next to restaurants, bars and entertainement, we over looked the main street of st georges bay but the room had double, double glazing so noise wasnt an issue. The rooms were spacious our family room had two large beds and room for a cot. A couple of times we had to ask for extra towels, but they were bought straight away!. The pool on the 10th floor was fab, never a problem getting sun beds and you felt the children were safe as there were was always pool.life guards about who didnt tolerate any bad behaviour. The harruba restaurant was great, as was the food, staff took a while to clear plates but other than that no complaints. Head concierge James was fab, our main complaint with service was in the outside dining/ bar area (eastern Breeze) i think, where we had to wait 20 mins for a bar menu and 30 mins for the drinks, the cocktails were fab though. We mentioned this to james after the first few days and we didnt have a problem afterwards. If you get bored with the hotel food, we found a fab restaurant called go brazil near to the hilton. for 25 euros per adult kids free, you had unlimited salad and hot brazilian starters from the buffet and then you turned a card on the table and you were bought 9 different sorts of meats to the table (steak, lamb, ribs, chicken etc all fab) where it was carved from skewers until you turned the card to signify you had finished, (also fish or vegatarian option) we booked this direct with our travel agent who got us a deal with olympic and we flew with ryan air, free half board and child places.. would definatly return to this hotel, try the buses as they cost a euro any where for 2 adults, kids were free, oh what fun, we hired a car and only used it twice, the buses are going in january so enjoy them now!!!!

Intercontinental Malta is definitely one of the top hotels on the island. Travelling with a young family does pose certain challenges however staying at the Intercon proved to be one of the most easy, enjoyable and hassle free experience. Our rooms were extremely comfortable and clean and of a fantastic size for a family of 2 kids. The staff were so obliging too and all of my requests however mundane or weird were always met. I was helped instantly and with a genuine smile which made my stay that much more enjoyable. The fact that the hotel also has a private sandy beach within a minute's walking distance from it's door was a definite bonus. My kids enjoyed the sand and splashing about and i loved the fact that i could just walk down to the beach without having to hassle with buses or spend money on taxis. Lush! When my husband and I wanted some us time the kids were taken care of & entertained by the reliable staff at the Kid's club . For a special evening dine at Paranga, the hotel's restaurant on the private sandy beach! For a tasty and hearty BBQ within plush gardens dine at Carissa.
Beach and rooftop pool, breafast room, Kids club and fitness centre are a definite must do. If you have time do some water sports too !

Great hotel, was travelling by myself for a break to catch a little sun and chose Malta as my parents were always banging on about how nice it is. Turns out they were right and the IC Malta was perfect for a break away, huge rooms with sea view balcony, fantastic choice of restaurants and bars and a great location - directly opposite the Hard Rock cafe and only 15 mins taxi ride from the airport, Valetta and Mdina. (I wouldn't recommend the buses as they are slow moving mobile ovens)

Friendly knowledgable staff were great, very welcoming and full of good tips on where to go and what to see. Pool was huge and although popular did not give a feeling of being crammed with loungers etc.

Will definitely go back.

we come in malta a lot, as malta is one of the best islands for us, we stood in many hotels around, but this year we tried intercontinental and for shure now that we been in there we are not going to change it for shure! we booked a club room, and for some extra money we were able for clublounge exess, sooo nice, the terrace was amazing! when we checked in felt so welcome, the modern look and the reseption, hotel felt huge, and it is, we were in floor 13, maids were so helpfull and even had a chance to have a chat with housekeeping supervisor, all were so friendly nice and helpfull, it's not something that we found in other hotels, friendliness! you can ask for yor room to be serviced early, that was what we did and when we came back always found it ready and clean, the breakfast was very good as well, huge chooise, my husband loved the live cooking omlets lol, one night we went to dine in one of the restourants it was in the garden, lovley, as worldcup games were going on, there was a big screen and my husband could'nt ask for more. Apart from that the hotel owns a private beach , small but was ok, it's just down the street. there are lots of things to do around, next to the hotel ther's a cinema , bowling and a shoping centre called baysteet, and for the young ones clubs are all around the area. my children really enjoyed the rooftop pool, we were all the time there and it felt safe as well. next year we are planing to come again, and for shure will be intercontinetal malta!
