The Hotel is situated close to St. Georges Bay in a very busy area. Excellent buffet breakfast included in the rate. However it it is a very large hotel fronting a very busy road opposite the Bay Shopping Complex and very near to the nightlife of Paceville. On one side of the corridor it faces a street where a business centre is being built so therefore noisy and very dusty. There are balconies to each room and as we were on holiday would have hoped to have sat out. However the area is very built up and the Maltese love blowing their car horns at every opportunity. As we had stayed in Diamond Suites for four nights facing over the front of the hotel we had experienced noisy nights even with triple glazing. We then moved into a hotel bedroom and were alarmed to find we were still going to be disturbed on the other side of the hotel! By paying an extra 75 euros we were moved across the corridor overlooking the roof top pool and beautiful gardens. Another world. Same lovely bedroom but peace and quiet which is just what we had hoped for a relaxing break.

If you are visiting St Julians in Malta then DONT stay here! Awful location (right across the street from the strip bars and tacky clubs) and the service from the staff is terrible. I have never stayed at such a bad hotel in terms of guest service and would not recommend this to anyone! It certainly does not live up to the Intercontinental brand.. my first and last time staying in an IC hotel ! Stay at the Hilton or the Westin - much nicer and fantastic service in both.

We recently returned from a holiday to Malta. We stayed at the Intercontinental in St George's Bay and simply can't fault it at all. The staff were so attentive and were always willing to help. The room spacious and spotless. The facilities extensive and the location couldn't be better. We highly recommend this hotel.

We just returned from our 10th visit to the beautiful Island of Malta. For our previous visits, we had always relied on our Tour Operator to co-ordinate our holiday, where we used to stay in a 5-star hotel in St. Julian's. during our previous stay, we have met some old friends of ours who have suggested the InterContinental hotel in St. Julian's and upon their recommendation, we have for this time booked this hotel directly to try it out. We are very thankful to our friends, because apart from the fact that we actually saved a lot of money, we also had a fantastic holiday at this fabuouls hotel. We just pity we have not considered staying at this hotel before, but there's time to catch up and we now look forward to our next visit.

The location of the hotel is the most central. We were a group of 8 people including my parents, my sister and her family with 2 teenage children, really had a great time being so close to all the nearby attractions. There's a massive cinema complex adjacent to the hotel, a bowling alley opposite, and a shopping complex just 50 metres away from the hotel. The hotel also has a private sandy beach, which however on certain days, was not fully functional during days with bad weather, unfortunately. The rooms are very spacious (all with balconies) and the facilities are great, especially the Club lounge on the top floor (we had to pay an extra supplement which was however very worthed). The hotel has a huge health centre with a massive Gym, the No 1 on the Island. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, especially at Front Office - not only they gave us useful tips of where to go (places we have never been to during our previous 9 visits) but also took care of arranging car hire for us (with valet service) and getting special tickets to one of the most prestigious historical sites in Malta. The selection of restaurants that this hotel has was also a big plus, where both the food and the service were impeccable, especially at Paranga and Eastern Breeze.

We have all been extremely happy that we have finally discovered this fantastic property and will definately recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. The prices are good value for money, the service is great and location is fantastic, providing that little extra to people like us who pretend they know the Island inside out! We can't wait to return to this lovely property.

A must visit hotel.

Regards,

Adam & Kate Taylor

I've stayed at the Intercontinental all around the world and i must say that this one is completely up to the standards.
During my stay everything was very good, being always assisted by the staff and well informed by their concierge.
The food in the outlets is great, specially at Paranga.
The breakfast is just amazing, with a vast choice of hot and cold dishes.
Our conference ran smoothly with a great service all the time and a very big meeting room.
Definitely a place to come back for personal life or for business purposes:

the hotel is beautiful, quiet and clean, the location is excellent (in the beautiful St. George bay, a short bus drive away from Sliema or Valleta). Breakfast was very good (too much food, actually). I would totally recommend to stay there, but here are a few defections:
- The WiFi didn't work at all, during all our stay
- The staff is very polite, but could be more friendly. for example, our traveling agency told us than when we check out, the hotel staff in the reception will tell us when our bus is coming to pick us up for the airport. A day before our check-out I asked the girl there about it, and she actually laughed at me and told me that they wouldn't know when our bus is coming and has nothing to do with it. Of course that a day later, when we checked out - they told us when the bus is coming...

This hotel is in Paceville ,NOT St Julians ,Paceville is an aea frequented by foreign students and young Maltese ,drink ,and heaven knows what else are commonplace!!!
It was impossible to get a decent breakfast ,no eggs ,long queues to get them ,very uncomfortable seating ,our table was cleared before we had managed to get any food !!
We complained in the restaurant ,and got absolutely no satisfaction !!
However ,later ,when the management heard of our complaint we were offered another room for eating breakfast !!!
We paid an extra £!05 for a seaview ,it was virtually non existent .
To be totally fair ,I must say that the room we had in this hotel was excellent ,such a pity about the hotel location !!!
