Stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and had no problems at all with it. Just back from a 10 day stay there and a completely different experience. Hygene quite poor, stained matress and stained sheets. Shower was continuously flooding. Our biggest problem was the pool staff. Rude beyond belief. Took a small bottle of water to the pool with me to be shouted at by the pool staff that I cant do this, fair enough but no signs up to say you cant. Next day a private party at the pool so was asked to leave the pool area while my husband was screamed at by a woman to get out! For what was suposed to be a relaxing holiday for myself and my husband turned into us being spoke to like children and given out to most days at the pool. Reported it to the reception staff which they said they would tell the Manager but nothing came of it. Would not spend my hard earned money in a hotel to be shouted at, treated like children and down right utter rude to customers.

Room Tip: A tip would be to book the Cavalier hotel which is very close by. We visited friends there most nig...

We again needed accommodation for a night and Dean Hamlet Aparthotel met that need. More particularly it was value for money. Arguably the rooms look like student accommodation but why worry if it is spotless, has comfortable bed, shower room and quiet. (Back off the main road but still central for St Julians and Paceville.). Continental breakfast included and if we had been around longer a swimming pool and gym. Ideal for adding days to a timeshare week.

Price is good. Location excellent and WIFI is available (where Hilton charges extra!! :) ) The rest is ...everything other reviewers said : not clean, staff rude (males); its a student accommodation so for a 'bargain" they put you into basement, where rooms are like in jail. Very poor quality. Good thing and the only is the location. Forget the breakfast, its very poor, but what do you expect for a bargain stay?? For a little extra cash you can 'upgrade' your room or down the road go for a nice coffee and croissant (2Euro). Beds are not a great deal, sheets are too small for a bed, they also do not have a double duvet (to share for a couple), tv is smaller than my laptop screen; toilet was black when I checked in; water pressure in the shower very low.. I wouldn't recommend to stay there over weekend or in peak months as you will not have a peace with students running around, drinking and smoking everywhere... Walls are transparent and you hear everything your neighbour does...

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor

I recently had the pleasure to stay for one (1) night at the Dean Hamlet and I must say that I was somehow impressed!

I needed to spend a night in St. Julian's area and after a quick search, I found a double room for my friend and I, priced at €15 (€7.50 each!!), I mean can it get any cheaper than that??

We checked in and kept our expectations low due to the price we paid, however we were surprised. The Room was of decent size and very clean, it was also equipped with a TV and an A/C. Anyway, we spent the night there and woke up for breakfast, which was included in the price. The Breakfast was awful, however, I had a toast and a cup of coffee which is more than what I was expecting for €7.50 each per night!!

You get what you pay for, excellent value for money and I'll definitely be staying there again!! :)

Unfortunately we found a hotel that had many problems and made our stay in Malta really challenging:

- Dirty rooms (for instance the tent in the bathroom was moldy)
- The rooms in the basement looked like prison cells with bars in the windows
- Scarce hygiene environment for breakfast (for example: we found a cockroach in the middle of the room, dairy /meat products were left exposed in normal temperature for too much)
- No Internet for the entire stay despite the reassurance of the staff
- Unprofessional staff

Stayed for 4 nights and it's been a bad experience.
Room: is spacious, but quality is not good. Old beds and curtains. Room was not cleaned daily. TV in the room was not working.

Breakfast served was pathetic.

Only good thing is the location, that's about it.

We stayed here for 6 nights in May 2013, in a 'Superior Studio'. The room was quite large, and clean. The bathroom was refurbished and clean (shower no tub). The building shares with a language school, so there's not a lot of hotel style services. The front desk is more an administrative area than a concierge. It is actually a language school who have rented out their rooms as a hotel. Don't be put of though at all, it is not noisy and the location is superb. I really couldn't fault the hotel given the price and would happily stay here again. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, but the breakfast served is very basic. Totally fine, but basic (toast, cereal, coffee). There is a pool and outdoor area which is very nice and is clean.

Room Tip: We stayed in a "superior studio". It was quite large, very clean, refurbished and with coo...
